18 in. Top Control 6-Cycle Compact Panel Ready Dishwasher with 2 Racks & Stainless Steel Tub

We’ve had this crap dishwasher for two years. Our plates don’t fit. It was difficult to add a panel and instructions didn’t align. I managed, but it occasionally slips off. The panel brace cracked off and now no panel will stay in place, and I have to get a new dishwasher. soap pods frequently get stuck in the compartment. The control is not user-friendly. If you interrupt a wash, there’s no way to resume. It has a delay-start that easily clicks on. you have to press it 23 times to reset.

I bought this dishwasher to blend in with my kitchen. If I do a normal installation, I must use a shorter door, which is not very attractive in my opinion. So, I have found a way around this. I am a contractor and I have installed probably 40 or more different dishwashers in various kitchens. So normally you attach the 2 screws to the top or sides. To make this dishwasher use a full-size door and toe kick I have lowered the dishwasher all the way down. Just make it level or barely adjust it to have the door in line with the rest of doors. By doing this you will have a large gap above the microwave, and you can't use the screws. The work around is this: I use a piece of lumber or any wood about 2 inch wide by 3/4 thick about 2 ft long and make a groove on the circular saw on the flat side. Then run it down on the stainless edge of the tub, behind the rubber gasket. If you don't have the countertop installed it is easier to work as you can screw this piece of lumber to the left and right-side cabinets. if you have the countertop you can screw from the side cabinets toward the dishwasher and with couple of trial and error you will put it in the right position. So now the dishwasher is secured but you have a gap above. I cut a piece of door or filler and installed it on top to cover the gap, then a bit of silicone to avoid particle board soaking in the steam. One more thing I did is to fill the extra space above the dishwasher with sound proof insulation , the machine is quiet from the beginning but this also helps . The second last part is the door installation. You can use the template, but you must shift it down, so the door is in line with the other doors. And the last part I had to trim a bit the toe kick, about a quarter inch, so the door doesn't snag it and this cut is not very visible (and if it is I would say it looks better than a shorter door). Check the photos and good luck. If Z line would make the tub taller maybe, then can add a tray for cutlery or just taller glasses for the upper rack. I have it done for about a year like this and no regrets, all looks great and works fine.

I have had the dishwasher installed for a few months now. My main problem with it is the short kick plate, which I didn’t see any warnings about when I purchased the dishwasher. There is about a 3-inch gap between the top of the kick plate and the panel, where you can see the innards of the machine. I was told by a store rep that this served no functional purpose and was just “European style.” It’s made by a company based in Tahoe, but whatever, it’s ugly, and I will probably cover it with a wood panel when we redo our cabinets. It was an unexpected problem. I do love the hammered copper. The other problem is how little room there is on the top rack. Tall glasses are hard or impossible to fit. Otherwise, it works fine.

The installation was a tad bit more difficult than other brand dishwashers we have installed but the performance is top notch over anything we have previously owned.

EXTREMELY small! Pay attention to the height. It is not typical counter height. I’m not sure why a dishwasher would not be counter height, we ordered by width, our mistake. But that aside, the pegs are so close together that our plates do not even fit in the rack. Racks are not substantial, they have a hard time staying on the track. Very disappointed!!

Returned. Impossible to attach the cabinet door to front. Directions for doing so are terrible. Eventually the door fell off, breaking the plastic part that was holding it. A “sliding hinge” is needed to attach a full length cabinet door to the front of the dishwasher. Zline doesn’t carry this nor do the directions tell you this.
