While we are thrilled to have you interested in this rod, I do caution that for optimal installation, this tension shower rod would need to have a solid, flat, structurally sound wall surface to go against at each end. Not knowing your exact configuration and set up, it is difficult to tell for sure if this guide that was used for your old shower enclosure doors will be troublesome or not. But if this area will run into the area where the tension rod would be against your wall, you might want to consider either removing the guide (if easily done) or perhaps considering a Zenna Home permanent (screw-mount) shower rod (which can be found on the Home Depot website by searching for this phrase: Zenna Home Permanent Mount Shower Rod ...
