Does this range hood have a built in back draft damper? I live in an extremely windy region. I will be doing a through the wall to a rectangular opening installation.
Hello, it should stay closed, but in some cases if a lot of winds enter the damper, it could possibly open due to the law of physics as there is nothing on the damper that keeps it shut. it would open when the hood is operating and close when the hood is off. Thank you for your inquiry! -Zephyr

I want to use this with a rear vent. The vent hole is slightly offset and not centered. Is there anything special to be done during the installation to make sure it works correctly? Is the performance affected by an offset vent.

Diameter of the duct going through the roof is 7 “ wide. Will the 6 inch opening at top of unit fit that application?

I want to have the rear exhaust that transitions to vertical in the stud cavity behind the stove. I have read that when vented out the top there should be 12 inch's before a bend, is it the same for the rear vent?
Hello, There is no set guidelines to where there needs to be x amount of vertical duct before a turn. The closer the turn is to the hood, the more noise it will create due to the immediate air resistance that the turn creates, so it is advisable to have at least a foot or so, but not mandatory.
