A: Thanks for reaching out. Zinsser Bulls Eye Shellac Traditional Finish & Sealer is not suitable for application inside a wooden breadbox, it is not FDA approved for food contact. The only product we offer that is FDA approved for food contact is Watco Butcher Block Oil. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Watco-1-Pint-Butcher-Block-Oil-in-Clear-241758/316130833 - Rust-Oleum Product Support 6
A: Happy to clear things up, Derrick! To ensure proper drying of Rust-Oleum Zinsser Bulls Eye Shellac, it must be applied to a clean and dry surface. The tacky stain can prevent the shellac from properly drying. If the stain was a penetrating stain and all the excess was not wiped away, that could be the cause for the stain remaining tacky. We recommend reaching out to the stain manufacture on how to best correct this. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 3
A: Thank you for reaching out! Our Zinsser Bulls Eye Shellac has a natural, amber hue that will cause the color of bare or stained wood to shift slightly. This color shift will increase as more coats of shellac are applied. If you would like to apply a clear protective finish over the stain without altering the color, we recommend applying our Varathane Ultimate Water-Based Polyurethane. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 2 https://www.homedepot.com/p/Varathane-1-qt-Clear-Satin-Water-Based-Interior-Polyurethane-200241H/100169146
A: In our experience, this did not darken or change the wood.
A: Yes. This will add a slight yellow tint to the wood.
