A: The ecobee smart thermostat will only replace one standard thermostat. So you’ll need two.
A: Thanks for reaching out! You would need two smart thermostats in this instance.
A: You will need 2.
A: You still need both thermostats. If you only want to replace one of them (i.e. for a primary zone) you need to keep the other original thermostat in the other location since each one is controlling different zones.
A: The back of the stand it is on covers the battery---snaps off.
A: The back of the little sensor pops off to expose the CR2032 battery.
A: all you have to do it take the back of you sensor, it's about the size of a quarter. If you can't figure it out, try looking it up on YouTube for a visual, or try reading the manual
A: Hi Gary! Replacing the battery is easy but is slightly different depending on which sensor you have. SmartSensor: https://support.ecobee.com/hc/en-us/articles/360051204771-Replace-your-SmartSensor-battery Room Sensor: https://support.ecobee.com/hc/en-us/articles/360050715672-Replace-your-Room-Sensor-battery If you have any questions, please reach out to email@example.com. We're always here to help!
A: You just remove the sensor off the stand and you can replace the battery.
A: I think you can use it to monitor temp but not affect the furnace. Has a setting for when active. Can set not active at all.
A: I see different readings for the main and remote sensor so I guess it will work.
A: Yes, you can choose which sensors contribute to the temperature. It takes an average of the sensors you opt in. I have 6 in my upstairs but only use 3 for one part of the day but all 6 for another.
A: You can monitor any sensor and choose to have it engaged for different settings. I use mine to help manage in the winter (sensor is upstairs and Ecobee is downstairs). I don't engage it in the summer because I have a separate cooling system for the 2nd floor.
A: Yes! You can customize which SmartSensor is participating in each Comfort Setting.
A: Yes, controls both easily and also easy to switch back & forth from AC to Heat.
A: I would think so provided the current thermostat operates on 24 volts AC
