The Flat Louver/Louver Shaker slab door perfectly matches with EightDoors' Flat Louver Shaker Bifold door which is available in two prefinished colors: white and grey. Take a look in our products page! This door has a trimming allowance of 1/4-in. on each side and 1-in. at the bottom. Further trimming will expose the dowels and weaken the structure of the door. Any edge that is trimmed must be sealed or painted to prevent moisture from entering the wood.

The air flow this door provides is about 1/3 of a regular louver door, which makes it ideal for closets or pantries but maybe not the right door for a room that contains equipment that produces heat or that demand a high volume of air flow. A: It is recommended that door opening should be door dimensions (28-in. x 80-in.) + 1/8-in. clearance on strike and head jamb sides and at least 1/16-in. on the hinge side. At the bottom, you should leave 1/8-in. or 3/4-in. in case your floor is carpeted to allow the door to swing freely without getting caught on the carpet. The design is very modern with the shaker style construction and the solid panels with the louvers sawn in. However the finish on the door takes extra care and extra steps to paint. So unless you want a white door be prepared to sand and then prime before you paint.
