The idh by St. Simons Storm Screen Door Latch, Knob and Lever Model is a beautiful addition or replacement for your home. Designed for use on doors from 7/8 in. to 1-5/8 in. thick with a 1-3/4 in. backset, it features a special locking mechanism that can be used on either the lever or knob side of the door. With its knob, lever and rosettes made with solid brass and finished off with a hand polished finish, there is no need to look further. Demand Quality. Demand idh.

  • Can be used on right or left-handed doors
  • Removable knob and lever can be switched around for either side of the door

Q:I installed latch per instructions, worked great for several weeks, now the latch is frozen. While in unlock or lock position the lever nor the round knob will turn. How do I fix this problem?

Q:I?ve had this latch for 7 years. In order to open the screen door the latch only works if I lift up on the lever. Pushing down on the lever does nothing. Is there an internal adjustment that needs to be made so latch works with downward motion?

A:  There is no internal adjustment for the latch. Possibly part of the spindle has broken or worn out and is not properly engaging the latching mechanism.

    A:  Polished Brass has a lacquer coating, while Polished Brass No Lacquer has no lacquer coating. The lacquer coating prevents the brass from "aging"

        The spindle quickly became hard to turn due to friction...
        The spindle quickly became hard to turn due to friction against the latch assembly. But after an application of beeswax, the spindle rotates freely and the latch retracts easily and properly. Not sure why this is not already applied at factory, or why this tip is not included in instructions.

        I’ve installed many doorknobs. This was the worst by far....
