The best time to plant a shrub is fall or spring but summer is okay if you keep it well watered. Spacing is 4 feet. Long Island is zone 7 so it should thrive in full sun

The soil in my nursery container was heavy on mulch, I would replant this without the nursery container in that ceramic pot with potting soil. so the roots have some more soil to reach into

It is supposed to be and so far there is no deer damage (and we have a lot of Deer damage issues in our neighborhood). None of our lorapetulum plants (8 including our neighbors on the property line) have ever had any deer issues.

Beautiful evergreen shrub for warm climates (Zones 7-10). I purchased this bush to fill a tough spot in my garden; an area with heavy mid and late day sun. I did not need a thriller there but this evergreen does have some small flowers and fits the area and space well. I expect it to flower more in upcoming summers based off the pictures. The foliage has great interest too, the mature leaves are green but new growth is a pink. The bush arrived in great condition and was watered well. There were a few flowers on it when it arrived. I recommend opening the box from the bottom and pulling the box up so you dont damage the shrub. Also, open the box in the grass as some dirt will come out. I live in Zone 7a and the shrub loves the sun and heat.

Much smaller than anticipated. Ordered 2 and both looked to be a smaller plant placed in a larger container. The dirt for the original was harder, dryer and lighter while the newer dirt was darker and fresh. I should have returned them, but I was pressed for time and simply planted them. More hesitate about buying plants online now.
