AnswerHi Homebuilder, Door should pass over the switch with no problem, especially if the mounting panel is used. However, this will also depend on the type of switch. The larger and more ornate, the smaller the clearance will become.

Owner assembles! Aside from some of the boards being slightly warped, this is a nice looking door. We ended up using the spare board to create a gap filler on each side when the door is closed.
Measure twice, mount once :)

The product is great. I put two coats of weathered grey and three coats of urethane on to insure longevity. I used this door to replace an annoying accordion door on my bathroom. It looks remarkable. The hardware is top-notch. The price was outstanding. My only gripe is that the description on your website didn't show that assembly was needed until the 5th or 6th line. That was a problem at pickup because I sent the associate searching for a 36" wide box. Fortunately, after about 20 minutes, a supervisors assistance was solicited and she pointed out the assembly issue to me. I may not have bought it had I noticed that line. I have more than 40 years of construction experience, primarily plumbing, and was up for the task. Now I am so proud of my work.

Great door built of solid materials. Was relatively easy to hang with all the provided hardware. I purchased 2 and used them as conversions for 2 bedroom doors on the second story of my home. I had to use a header board because of this but the finish still looks great.

Only for Intermediate DIY Skills
Need woodworking skills and tools to build this door. I used two for a double door. Tracks bent and did not meet well, screws missing, boards warped. T&G boards are 35 7/16 inches wide when assembled. The top and bottom trim are 36 inches long so had to cut to fit. The cross bar angle then changes so had to scribe and trim to fit. To reverse the cross bar, must drill countersinks on back side for screws in addition to scribing, cutting and fitting. Back side of door is just T&G, no trim. I will fill all screw holes and prime and paint. Screws look terrible. Total cost for everything is about what I would have paid for the lumber and hardware and built from scratch, including making T&G boards. Lesson learned.
