The Mighty Mule 10-Watt Solar Panel Kit is an excellent option for charging the battery in your solar powered gate opener system. The 10-Watt system maximizes sunlight for increased usage for your gate system for increased gate cycles. The solar panel kit includes a strong steel support and mounting hardware with required 8 ft. low voltage wire, ideal for environments lacking a power source at the site of installation.

HI Darron, you will need a battery to work with the 10 watt solar panel. The solar panel will use the battery to open and close on cloudy days. This way, your gate will open and close as needed. Please check out our installation videos on Mighty Mule.com or YouTube. Thank you
The FM123 Solar Panel from Mighty Mule is rated at 12 volts and delivers 10 watts of power. It's designed to provide a continuous trickle charge to keep your gate opener's 12V battery fully powered, especially in off-grid or rural installations. Great question, thank you
Hi Vinny, the solar panel charges the battery, so the battery can open the gate. That's why on clouding days, the gate will still open. Great question. Thank you
Hi Bonnie, not sure which gate opener you are referring to but, if you are interested in adding a motion sensor to your gate opener, there are several ways available. First, none of our gate opener come with this option as a kit, you would have to add an accessory. The FM140 is a 100 ft wired vehicle sensor that can be buried and the motion of your car will open the gate. This would be your best choice. Hope this helps.
Hi Jimmy, Our 10 watt panel is 12 volts. Thank you for that question.
Hi Dann, If your solar panel is not producing enough power to open and close your gate, try a larger fresh marine battery as a back-up. A cloudy day may make the unit less powerful. A battery back-up will help it open and close as needed. Hope this helps.
Hi BillA, Unfortunately the answer is no, however you can purchase another brand and use a 30 watt solar panel with our units. Hope this helps.
HI BeeJay, sorry for the delay, but I needed to check with our engineering team for this question. We use Monocrystalline in our Solar Panels. Great question, and thanks for asking.
