SharkBite PEX tubing is a cross-linked polyethylene tubing for a wide range of residential and commercial plumbing applications. Manufactured with an oxygen barrier for radiant floor and hydronic heating applications (available in orange). The oxygen diffusion barrier applied to the exterior limits oxygen permeation through the tubing wall in hydronic heating applications which prevents corrosion of ferrous metal parts in the heating system. A repeating SharkBite imprint pattern provides a visual aid to determine if the tube has been inserted all the way into the SharkBite Push-to-Connect Fitting. This feature only works if the tubing is cut between the SharkBite imprint pattern.

You will have to consult with your local building department if local codes allow the use of PEX pipe. Mike
Hi, The SharkBite 1/2 in. x 500 ft. Coil Oxygen Barrier Radiant Heating PEX-C Pipe on the Home Depot website is described as PEX-C. I have attached the link for the PEX-C pipe (https://www.homedepot.com/p/SharkBite-1-2-in-x-500-ft-Coil-Oxygen-Barrier-Radiant-Heating-PEX-C-Pipe-U860O500/202033044#product-overview) If you have any more questions about the description of the PEX-C pipe you can call tech support at 877-700-4242. (Kind regards,)
I would advise using it inside use only. Outside products used need to be uv stable and must be able to be frozen without being compromised in cold climates. I would not use this product outside. It is made and works well for its intended purpose. Have used it for 3 seasons inside as designed and worked well for me.
Hello, SharkBite oxygen barrier PEX tubing is suitable for outdoor use but must be protected from UV to prevent degradation. Typically, foam pipe insulation is suitable for protecting the tubing from U.V. It will also be important to prevent the water from freezing as this could cause damage to the tubing. If you have additional questions please don't hesitate to reach out to our technical support department at 877-700-4242. Best Regards,
Please contact Customer Service M-F, 8am-5pm at (877) 700-4242. Need more information about the question you are asking.
No, SharkBite PEX pipe does not work with an expansion tool or uponor fittings. If you have further questions, please contact Customer Service M-F, 8am-5pm at (877) 700-4242.
Yes. The difference is in the PEX pipe itself. Since ferrous components are likely to be present in a radiant system, it is important to use oxygen barrier PEX pipe to help prevent ferrous components from rusting.
That is a question you would need to ask your local Home Depot Pro Desk associate.
Best thing call your local prodesk..they can also tell you next delivery day available and packing details...some things get so damaged or stolen from driveway not worth it.
