About This Product

SharkBite Max push-to-connect fittings allow you make pipe connections with half the insertion effort while withstanding double the burst pressure. Featuring a newly designed stainless-steel retainer, SharkBite Max delivers additional strength and durability while providing a 400 PSI pressure rating. The re-engineered body allows you to insert the pipe using less effort and doesn't require a PEX tube liner. No soldering, clamps, unions, glue or special tools are required for installation. They are the fastest way to connect PEX, copper, CPVC, PE-RT and HDPE pipe. The fitting can be rotated after installation for quick adjustments and removing the fitting is just as fast with a disconnect tool, allowing fittings and valves to be changed or reused. (SharkBite push-to-connect fittings are the fastest when compared to other conventual plumbing methods. All other comparisons relate to first generation SharkBite push-to-connect products.).

Hello- I purchased a 1/2" Shark Bite fitting with the female adapter for my laundry room cold water supply line. I then screwed in a rotating water valve to attach my washing machine hose. How can I stop the female adapter from turning when I put water on
                ByApr 22, 2026
                1 Answer |
                Answer This Question

If the fitting is turning while tightening the washing machine hose or valve, the rotation is occurring at the push-to-connect. You will need to use a backup wrench on the hex of the adapter while tightening the hose/valve.

Shark bite push to connect couplings garbage
Absolute crap. They do not come apart. Bought the tool and there was no way to pull it apart to make the repair.

Easy to push onto a copper pipe and a pex pipe. Stopped the leak easy with this as a bypass in a tight area that was too small for soldering.

Tried these things out for the first time today to repair a pinhole leak on my hot water line. I love how you can put them on and take them off to make adjustments. Definitely recommend.
