Questions & Answers

I have existing 1" piping from a lake that is buried under a stone patio before it reaches the pump, so the piping can't be increased to 2". If I adapt the 1" suction line to 2" at the pump, will that damage the pump?

Answer This Question

Walker - Reducing the intake can cause premature pump failure by starving the pump of water it demands. Please feel free to contact us via 800.237.0987 Monday-Friday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. for any further questions. We look forward to hearing from you.

Hello Jordan, thank you for your inquiry. The pumps psi is based on your Piping. The pump it self has a 30 psi without piping.

It depends on the sprinkler system design. (extreme example). If you have one sprinkler head you’ll get high pressure. If you have 100 sprinkler heads you’ll get low pressure. Probably good info on YouTube etc on how to match pump performance (Pump Curve)

Failed Twice in Months — Expensive Pump, Cheap Reliability Poor customer service
I rarely leave reviews, but this one is warranted. This pump failed twice within months of installation. The impeller broke shortly after purchase, and then failed again soon after repair. This is a $400 unit that should last years, not months—especially when installed indoors and protected. What makes this worse is the real cost: installation, removal, and repeated downtime. Those costs quickly exceed the price of the pump itself. Customer service was equally disappointing. Instead of addressing the repeated failures, the response focused on deflecting responsibility and pointing to generic installation assumptions that do not apply to my setup. There was no real effort to stand behind the product or offer a meaningful resolution beyond basic parts. That lack of accountability is just as concerning as the product quality itself. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this pump. There are clearly more reliable alternatives on the market. Buyers should strongly consider long-term durability, not just upfront price and in store availability.

Piece of JUNK! Do Not Buy!
IS THERE A NEGATIVE RATING HERE BECAUSE THIS IS WHAT I WOULD RATE THIS PIECE OF JUNK!!!! STOP WORKING AFTER 5 MONTHS, AND WAYNE WATER WILL NOT HONOR THEIR WARRANTY UNLESS YOU INSTALL THIS INSIDE YOUR HOUSE OR INSIDE YOUR GARAGE! THAT IS THEIR EXCUSE FOR NOT HONORING THEIR WARRANTY! THEY WANT THIS installed INDOORS. They want me to install this sprinkler/IRRIGATION PUMP INDOORS! I HAVE OTHER PUMPS THAT ARE 8 YEARS OLD AND OLDER that are still WORKING, installed next to this JUNK. The older pump works while this PIECE OF JUNK QUITS JUST AFTER 5 MONTHS! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS EXPENSIVE JUNK! Even though I have a CMU wall protecting all my equipment, the (Wayne Water) manufacturer will not honor the warranty because they want this installed indoors. Again, this is A Piece of Junk!

Works well so far, been in operation for about 3 weeks with no issues. Almost a direct replacement from the old pump, just added a new wire whip, replaced all the pvc and added a priming plug as instructed. Installed the new wire and pipes, primed the pump and within a few seconds of powering on the sprinklers did their thing. Only issue so far is the rust forming on the outside of the pump right after the first rain. This pump is much quieter and provides a bit more water pressure than the 20 year old pump it replaced. Now if this pump lasts as long as the one it replaced, all will be well.

This pump really puts out even though the well point was 1 and 1/4 inch which is smaller than the 2" pump intake of the pump. It replaced another 2 hp pump which froze up after 20 years. The 220 volt hookup was straightforward even though the manual only covered the 120 volt hookup.

Easy install to replace previous pump that was 9 years old. This pump is so quiet and delivers the stated 2HP needed to draw pond water uphill to lawn.

Works great after priming and pumps lake water uphill (about a 20 foot lift) through 1 and 1/2 inch pipe for a good 200 feet to 5 zones, one zone is at street. 4 stars instead of 5 because the mounting is bad. The lag screws I had on my old pump were 2 inches long but there is only enough room between the mount and the pump housing for a 1 inch lag bolt on each side. It actually needs a brace under the electric motor to hold it up. My old Flotec pump had a plastic mounting bracket with a brace under the motor. This pump is so quite running that I can hardly tell it's running from uphill. It's all cast iron, no plastic and very heavy but it works great. It should last several years.

This is a great pump. This is a impeller pump with small vanes. If the vanes get clogged the pump does not pump. The guy that sucked water from creak and then complained that the pump stopped working probably clogged up the vanes. I spent a lot of effort to make sure the inlet water was clean but still ended up with a few small rocks and snails in the vanes. I unbolted the end bell (note the direction of the diverter plate, take a picture or video when doing this) and with a small wire clean the vanes. The impeller is plastic so to be careful not to break as you are prying out a small rocks. I have done this twice over the past few years and always find something blocking the vanes.
