About This Product
SharkBite PEX tubing is cross-linked polyethylene tubing for a wide range of residential and commercial plumbing applications. PEX Pipe is durable, flexible and corrosion resistant. Manufactured without an oxygen barrier for potable water systems (available in white, blue, and red). A repeating SharkBite imprint patterns provides a visual aid to determine if the tube has been inserted all the way into the SharkBite Push-to-Connect Fitting. This feature only works if the tubing is cut between the SharkBite imprint patterns. In addition to Potable Water Supply SharkBite PEX meets UL Standard for Plastic Piping in Fire Systems.

Yes, but only if protected from UV radiation and physical damage. PEX-B is not UV-rated for permanent exposure.
I am trying to terminate a 1/4 ID pex near our refrigerator and i cant find a outlet box that connects at that size. What is my best option to use with this pex ?
Hello, We do not currently offer an ice maker outlet box suitable for use with 1/4" (3/8" O.D.) PEX tubing. SharkBite ice maker outlet box model numbers 25032 and 25033 are designed for use with 1/4" O.D. copper tubing. SharkBite model # U3524LFA can be added to the valve's outlet which will make it suitable for use with 1/4" (3/8" O.D.) PEX tubing. I am trying to tee in a connection from my RO system to my fridge. The John guest would not be in the wall, but the Pex would be sealed in the joist area under the kitchen and not be replaceable in the future.
Hello, Yes, SharkBite 3/8" O.D. PEX tubing is suitable for use with John Guest fittings that are intended for use with plastic tubing (such as Home Depot SKU # 761886). The tubing is suitable for behind the wall applications but these particular fittings should only be installed in accessible areas. Which is it - 1/4 in. or 3/8 in.? Will it fit 1/4 in. refrigerator water line connectors?
I purchased this and it fit the adapter that came with the Sharkbite ice maker kit which needs 1/4" pipe.
Yes, the pipe is 1/4" with 3/8" Outside diameter.
3/8 O.D. pipe as it states. You will need (as I did) a PEX coupling that is 1/4 X 3/8 If you connect it to !/4 in. copper tubing. If you connect it to where the copper tubing had been connected, you will need the adapter or coupling (?) that will do that. It was simpler for me to use short pieces of the existing copper tubing at the ends. (Push hard to get the pipe/tubing completely seated!!)
It is 3/8" outside diameter, 1/4" inside diameter. It will fit to a 1/4" refrigerator line if you use a sharkbite 'compression adaptor', which is what I used. Works great.
