What is used in the factory to join the smaller pieces - is it glue or mortar? We have a similar product that we have to replace because glue/mastic oozes out of the joints when the fireplace is used.
These stone panels are factory-assembled using adhesive (glue/resin) to hold the pieces together, not mortar. Any glue or mastic oozing from joints is due to improper installation, not factory assembly. For fireplaces, use a polymer-modified thin-set mortar to prevent oozing and handle heat safely. I am doing my fireplace wall and 2 outside corners. I have the flat pieces already and looking to get the corners. My ceiling height is 9 feet. So, with 2 corners total 18' How many corners pieces will I need to purchase?
For 18 linear feet of corners, you’ll need about 40 pieces with a 10% overage, which equals 8 cases (5 pieces per case).
