Hello Debs...we do not recommend the TopCoat for table tops and/or furniture. It is specifically formulated for flexible surfaces like canvas, so it flexes and doesn't crack. That said, it's not suitable for hard surfaces like table tops because it doesn't cure hard like an epoxy. If you set anything on the table top, it most likely will leave a mark or ring, depending on what you set on it. The TopCoat is only for decorative purposes only. -DecoArt Paint Guru
It has a milky appearance out of the bottle, dries clear. It is a pouring medium to be used by mixing with paint for acrylic pours. Works very well provides a nice finish when dried. Very good product particularly for the price. I usually buy it by the gallon.
The Pouring Medium has a white base, so appears milky out of the bottle, but does not affect the color vibrancy when added to acrylics and dries clear. -DecoArt Paint Guru
Unfortunately, it cannot be used on outdoor cushions. The paint that you mix with the Pouring Medium is not flexible and will dry hard. As a result, it will crack and crumble if you try to sit on or back against the cushions. -DecoArt Paint Guru
That is totally up to you. I, myself don't use silicone, but lots of artists, do.
Hello, Lunaflow! I just today watched a video where the artist made two panels; to one, she added no silicone, and to the other she did, and she got great cells with the silicone! I think I learned my lesson - go ahead and add silicone to it! Night and day! What a difference! good luck with your projects!
Hello, Lunaflow! I tried this pouring medium myself and didn't really get any cells to speak of - maybe the silicone would have improved my results! I just did watch a pouring video today where they did one canvas with no silicone, and one where they added it. She got much better results from that with silicone! OK, lesson learned...! Next time, I'm adding it! Good luck with your work!
No, this is a pouring medium. It conditions the paint.
Unfortunately, no. In fact, when you add this to any acrylic that is formulated for glass, it may diminish the adhesion properties of the paint when the medium is mixed with it. -DecoArt Paint Guru
