Does pet hair get stuck in thr weave of the rug?

We love the color and feel of this rug, but it is very thin and always bunching up/stretching out when walked on. We used a rug pad but still having the same problem. how can we keep flat?

Consistent stretching and bunching might indicate the rug pad isn't providing enough grip or the rug is experiencing excessive traffic. Can it be an outdoor rug under a covered patio?

I have a rug like this from 2018 and wondering if I should be concerned given the year it was made- did you ever use any stain resistant chemicals on your rugs? PFAS, PFC, any scotchguard or fluorocarbons of any kind? Flame retardants?
All nuLOOM rugs are child and pet-friendly and do not use any harmful chemicals, including flame retardant chemicals. This applies to rugs manufactured in 2018 as well.
