Akia Blue 8 ft. x 10 ft. Geometric Area Rug

This is a beautiful rug with a brilliant ivory cream color and an incredibly soft texture. I originally purchased it for my bedroom, a low traffic area with very little risk of dirt or heavy wear. Unfortunately, after just four nights I could no longer tolerate the smell. I tried everything I could think of to eliminate it, including running an air purifier 24/7 on both medium and max settings for four days, but nothing helped. While I may have been able to air the rug outside if odor were the only issue, my second concern was more problematic. The rug had a noticeable film on it. When walking on it with socks or bare feet, they felt slightly slippery, almost like a residue or shine was left behind. That same feeling transferred onto my hardwood floors, which was very unsettling. Dealing with both the strong odor and the surface film made the rug unusable for me. These were major issues that I simply couldn’t overlook. While the rug is visually beautiful, well made, and very soft, the odor and residue were deal breakers for me.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love my new rug. It is soft and looks great. It did have a smell, which is getting better over time. It came folded so some of the lines are still flattening. Happy with my purchase. Looks just like the photos.

This rug is exactly what I was expecting. It’s beautiful and the price was amazing! Fast shipping and a great company to deal with. Thank you!

Such a gorgeous farmhouse rug. The tassels add the perfect touch! I have received so many compliments. Great quality, and the chemical smell only lasts for a few days. Certainly recommend!

Wonderful rug! It looks expensive and is soft and comfortable. A mix of modern boho. No smell either.

Nice looking rug and the price is right. The color is exactly what I was hoping for. It says beige, but it's more cream. If you want a soft rug, this is it. Only reason I took off a star is because it looks to be a firmer, denser rug in the ad. Overall, I would recommend this rug.

I was nervous to buy this because I have 4 kids aged 10 and under, and I thought it might be a pain to keep clean. BUT it has been a few weeks and it's still beautiful and I'm so happy with it!

Great value. Fair price - its soft and durable. It could be a tiny bit more plush, but overall it feels good to walk on. It didn't come wrinkled or with any weird smells like other rugs have in the past. So far I haven't spilled anything on it (thank goodness) so not sure what would happen if I did.
