No drain plug
This is my fourth evaporative cooler and it works pretty good. The one thing I did notice is that it does not have a drain plug for the water. Every other cooler I've has had a drain plug. You literally have to pick it up open the drawer and tip it almost upside down to get the water out. I like it but I will not buy that brand again.

    It’s like having an air conditioner!
    I gotta be honest, when I chose this tower fan, I did not realize that it came with two ice packs and water chamber as part of its design. Unboxing the fan was simple and handling it prior to putting it on the stand, it seemed very sturdy. Once it was on the stand, it was not going anywhere. It was simple and straightforward and it comes with a remote control, which is pretty cool because you can put the fan on the opposite end of a room and still be able to adjust it without having to leave your seat. When I spun the fan around and saw that it had a water container on the rear I was a bit shocked. I did not realize that the two blue ice packs are meant to be put into that, along with water. It basically cools the air anlmost immediately. The fan has three speeds, a 10 hour timer, plus the ability to oscillate or not. The front screen is digital and I must say that I was very impressed with it. The ice packs were the coolest thing I’ve seen in a long time and I felt like I was 10 years old again, tying frozen water bottles to the back of a fan like we used to do years ago. This fan is extremely well built and does everything it promises. I highly recommend this and I don’t think you’ll be disappointed, especially when you’re basically getting an air conditioner without the high cost of using electricity.

    Cooling me off this summer
    I believe this will be one of my favorite items, especially during the summer. I am happy to replace the one I have had for a while. This new unit has so many features. It has a timer you can set from 1 hour up to 12 hours, the swing mode which makes the fan oscillate to help circulate the air. The wind speed control, and my favorite is the cooling mode. It has a good size water tank in the back, and it comes with 2 little blue bottles that you can fill with water, and freeze them, and put them in the back, or you can add ice. It pumps the water up and over a filament and when the fan is on, it sucks the cool air and pushes it out the front. One other great feature is it has a remote control. Also, it lights up the front panel and tells you what mode etc. It's light weight and very stable with the base that you attach to the bottom.

    Tower Cooling fan
    This Tower Air cooler is perfect for getting air flow in small rooms and if cooling is desired you just have to add the frozen water containers to the unit’s water reservoir and within a few minutes you’ll feel a cool breeze. It will not be equivalent to an air conditioner but it will feel cool. I tried it both as a fan and as a cooling fan in a small room and it did the job of making the room comfortable. The oscillating feature is good and it worked well with moving the air around. The unit is very light but it is tall. It has a handy remote so you can operate it without having to get up. The biggest negative I can give it is that if you want to remove the water tank to fill it at a faucet you have to pull it partially out and reach down inside and move two retaining clips that hold the water pump in place, then lift out the water pump as you slide the reservoir out of the unit. Then after you fill it you have to hold the water pump up and slide the reservoir partially back into the unit while reaching down into the water and placing the water pump back in place and locking the retaining clips. A workaround would be to just use a pitcher to fill the reservoir without removing it.

    Excellent quality and delivers chilled air!
    I have a regular fan that looks like this product but doesn't have the water evaporation effect. There's 'no contest' between that fan and this model. The forced air is actually chilled! Assembly is merely attaching the circular floor discs. Takes about 20 seconds. You don't have to use the evaporation feature to operate the fan. If you do, there will be a notable difference in the air temperature. You can't remove the water tank from the unit so a pitcher of sorts will be needed to fill the tank. I didn't find that to be an issue. Filling with cool tap water will lower the air temperature. Using the included chiller bottles (fill with water, freeze, then insert into the water tank) makes a big difference. The selected fan speed will determine how long the water in the tank will last. You will, though, get several hours of cooling from a full tank. The remote control is easy to understand. Fan can be stationary or oscillating. This fan is of high quality and actually delivers chilled air. I'm also certain that my utility bill will be lower with this device, rather than a standard air conditioner. Another benefit is the portability. Simply carry it into whatever room you want and plug it in. No window mounting or exhaust tubing to mess with. Highly recommended!

    Beats The Heat
    41 in. Evaporative Cooling Fan The fan arrived with no damage in a well packaged box. Although the instruction booklet is a little vague about base assembly and attachment to bottom of tower, it is easy to assemble once you take a good look at how parts are formed. The remote worked well as did the touch sensitive buttons on top of the tower. A quick read of the booklet before operating helped figure out what each buttons function is. Regarding the 'Mode' button, I didn't notice much difference between the 'nature wind' and the 'sleep wind' settings. The fan puts out plenty of air in all speeds. The rotating feature worked well and overall I'd say it is fairly quite. I filled the water chamber with a mixture of ice and water to try and achieve max cooling. When tested in a room, water pump on, with air temperature of 76 deg and relative humidity of 50%, an average temperature drop of 8 deg was achieved. Although the fan is not recommended for use outside, I set it up on my covered patio. With air temp at 89 deg, relative humidity of 75%, the temp changed a couple degrees. As anyone who lives in a warm, humid climate knows, evaporative coolers don't work well. However the 3 speed fan did a good job by itself in keeping everyone sitting in the patio area feeling cooler.

    I am kind of disappointed with this product. There is a very annoying blue light on when the unit is off. Also there does not seem to be a way to empty the leftover room temp water to refill with cold water. I think this is a no brainer design flaw.

    I returned it. The product is sturdy, tall, skinny, steady and good looking, easy assembly. But the cooling function is unsatisfactory. The vent opening being vertical and slim, the cooling output is limited and it doesn't really cool down the room. Can hardly feel the effect even when you point it squarely at yourself. And oscillating it is even worse bc you can feel the cool only momentarily as it pass. We tested it for 2 weeks, giving it a chance but it just didn't do the job. Plus the ice boxes and additional ice from my freezer melts in about 2 hours, doesn't last long.
