Answer This Question
A: Not really, if you keep it full of water the wood will swell and keep most of the water in, however they recommend that you drill a small hole in the bottom to allow water to escape and not become stale. If you don't keep it wet, the wood will shrink and definitely let the water out.

Q:Does this white oak unit come in 18” diameter?? Chuck

Answer This Question
A: Unfortunately it does not. The Oak Barrels are a genuine used Whiskey or Wine Barrel, and typical size is 52 or 59 total gallons (before being cut in half). Anything smaller than that would be a specialty size, and would have to be custom made.

Answer This Question
A: We have had our's outside for 2-years now and it is starting to show some signs of aging, a few of the boards are starting to separate. Still very functional and will probably last at least 2 more years.
Take a look at the photos and decide for yourself.

Q:Are these half cut barrels or reconstruction from barrel wood?

Answer This Question
A: This is a “wanna be” wine barrel. It isn’t very sturdy. If you’re expecting a half cut wine/whiskey barrel, keep looking. This is not it.

A: I bought this for a Patio Peach Tree. It is a nice size and it is a real Whiskey Barrel. I drilled drainage holes underneath and the drilled wood smelled like a distillery. You will need a sharp drill bit to drill the holes. It is hardwood.
