Q:The stone sill on the outside is too wide and too deep for the arm to touch the brick wall below it. Is there a way to remedy this?

Answer This Question

A:  At this time, we do not offer a solution for a thicker window sill. Best of luck on your search.

A:  I had the same problem, but I didn't find any remedy. In my set-up, the arm rests above the stone sill, just under the window. I've had it like that for the past 3 years with no problems, and I have seen many others set up like that. I got this ac support because it was mandatory in my building, not because I thought I needed it.

Q:I want to use this bracket in an old wooden frame window. The air conditioner needs to fit into a lip between the window sill and the window case, while the lower sash secures the air conditioner from above. This bracket mounts over the storm-window frame. Won't that raise the machine above the groove that secures the bottom and make it less stable in addition to creating a gap?

A:  I had the same problem, had to attach a 2by4 to the support bracket. Use the built in level to make it even. Also used the plastic thingamajig to raise it higher. Worked perfectly.

A:  Fred, This bracket is to be installed on the exterior window sill. Included in your hardware kit are 2 flat spacers to raise the height of the bracket to meet the height of the stool. The spacers are not mandatory so if they make the bracket too high and create a gap, you do not have to use them. Next to the product overview above, you should be able to download and view the instructions for installation before you purchase if this does not answer your question. Best of luck. -Nation Wide Products

A:  You do not attach this to the window sill. It is attached to the outside of your house. When you slide your air conditioner through the window, the outside portion rests on the bracket, the inside portion sits on the sill, your window slides down to meet the top of the window and the side "expanders" that come with your air conditioner will fill the gaps on the sides of the air conditioner (they are usually adjustable).

A:  We cut a piece of wood to raise the unit to the correct height for installation. Then we used the foam strip to seal the gap in front of the wood between the unit and sill.

A:  You have to drill 3 holes for the screws in the window sill. It would be very easy to install on the second story window. Mine was a first floor window, but I did it all from the inside. It comes with a built in level.

A:  You can mount it all from the inside of the house. 90% of the bracket is outside where the support is needed. You secure it onto the widow frame and it supports the air conditioner outside the window. You also offset it to the heavy side of the air conditioner. You balance the AC on the support. The rubber pad on the outside support rests on the outside of the house. Its very sturdy and holds the AC unit very well.

A:  No the ac has to be mostly on the outside of the window. It has to vent out the the hot air from inside the room to be installed otherwise it will defeat its purpose. It has a u chanel that grasps the upper portion of the window thats guide to install it properly.
