A:  This enclosure house a fan that is about the size of one found cooling a desktop computer. I did like the design, as it is sturdy, and I would think it could handle, if installed correctly 100+ mph winds.  As is is not a turbine so there should be no issue like that experienced by rooftop turbines.  My suggestion for a solar fan is the: QuietCool - 1,486 CFM - Solar Attic Gable Fan - With 40W Solar Panel .. if you have gables..

A:  I installed it on the roof of my shed 4 years ago and it still runs fine. We get a lot of sunshine here so it runs a lot and does an ok job. But not so much on cloudy days.

A:  I mounted this fan on a 8 x 6 ft shed about 3 years ago and have had no problems. The solar cells face directly south and receive sunlight year round. The fan runs whenever the sun is out and is very effective in removing the hot air. I originally bought 2 to mount on the shed bit the one fan does the job quite well. I am very satisfied with the effectiveness and performance.

A:  Each fan lowers the temp during the Summer. The more sun the more it runs. I used 2 on a 600 sq ft roof and lowered attic temp from 160 to 130 peak temps. Also added 2 open vents on sides to help circulate air thru attic.

A:  Absolutely, but the solar panel needs the best angle towards the sun, I removed and tilted the solar panel to get the best angle, just diffused sunlight only runs the fan at 1/4-1/2 speed

A:  There is no power switch, as long as the sun is out the vent fan will operate and run.

A:  There is none. The fan runs when direct sun light is hitting the solar panel, otherwise it acts as a passive vent.

A:  That's what I did. Purchased 2 and flipped 1 fan over to blow into "attic" area of the camper and the other blows out. My solution to the Florida high humidity issues in the ceiling.

A:  Well, if you can cut a hole into the roof without entering the attic, then yes. The vent slides underneath a section of shingles outside. Position it, seal it, and secure it down - all from the rooftop.

A:  The entire unit installs from the roof. Personally, I started from inside the attic to determine where I could cut the hole without running into any rafters. But, if you think you can somehow cut a hole in your roof without cutting into rafters - from the outside - without entering into your attic space; then no, you won't need to access your attic.
