A:  Should be able to as long as they are not nailed right to the edge. If they are you can still notch around the fastener but that would be a lot of work

A:  I put the drip edge on the bottom edge of the roof first, but not on the sides of the gable. Next I use ice and water shield underlayment. (Some folk use roofing felt ... yuck). Then I put drip edge on top of the underlayment going up the edges of the gable. At the bottom edge I use a starter strip. For this I use a row of 3 tab shingles rotated 180 degrees so the solid edge fills the voids when the final roofing goes on. The final roofing goes out to the edges of the drip edge. Otherwise rain would collect on the drip edge and wick under the shingles and the roof would leak. Nails go through the roof, never through the edge of the drip edge.

A:  The entire drip edge gets covered in felt/shingles. The ribbing on top simply stops water from trickling under the shingles or felt

A:  Probably an inch to an inch and a half. The 3 inches (the wider the better) is under the roofing

A:  I think its about 1 inch .

A:  you can paint it but the question is why would you? 75% of it is under the shingles if you want it black like your shingles grab some spray paint and coat them just before you put them up I hope this helps

A:  It's white and holds up well, whereas paint will eventually peel. If you had paint that adheres to plastic, you could paint it, but I wouldn't advise it.,

A:  I bought it in one section it was a little hard to put into the car without cutting it other than that it was and works great.

A:  The one I ordered did.

A:  It was one 10ft piece. Be sure to fasten it like every 10 inches - it is very flexible. It works really well.

A:  I've always cut the drip edge to make butt joints. If it would make you feel better I suppose you could use caulk, but the underlayment over the drip edge at the bottom edge of the roof, and the underlayment over the drip edge going up the edges of the gable, seal the joints adequately.

A:  this flashing is for the end of the shingles that are pouring the water in to the gutter so you dont have water missing the gutter when it s a light rain its spans the gap if you have one from shingles to gutter. you don't need the flashing on the sides of the roof going to the peak water will not flow from there.

A:  I overlap it by cutting out a 1" section of the vertical part of the flashing, basically the vertical part of the "T". One that is cut out, I can overlap that section on to the one next to it. I use tin snips to cut the section off.

A:  Yes. My gutters, installed professionally, have both drip edge and gutter guard. There are lots of ways to install gutter guard. You'll need to follow the directions that work best in your situation.
