A:  There is a non-auto leveling mode which is essentially a manual mode.

A:  Thank you for your question. The GLL 50 Laser leveling Tool will blink if the unit is out of level by 4 degrees, it will also shut down after 120m if no button is pressed. If your unit is immediately shutting down after a few seconds, please try new batteries. A:  It blinks when it is not level enough to self-level. Shim it so it is closer to level in order for the internal pendulum to self-level, indicated by a solid line.

A:  Yes the bracket is magnetic and can be mounted to the wall with a nail or screw. Also it has a clip mount.

A:  Yes it is magnetic with an adjustment on the side

A:  Yes the bracket does have magnets. The magnets are pretty strong and was able to secure on the finished metal corner bead. So far it has worked wonders even after dropping a few times.

A:  Nothing about such a rule in the manual that comes with the level. I have observed others using it on job sites without glasses but then again OSHA is not every where.

A:  I usually can set it in less then a minutes to get the line where I need it

A:  the unit can be set on the floor or any distance from the floor. I use an old camera tripod to mount the unit and adjust the height.

A:  Why not. You get a vertical and horizontal cross hair to guide the placement. For outside work at some distance to the wall, I would advise the larger model.

A:  Yes! As long as your wall lengths are under 50ft this would work very well for hanging siding. You will probably want an extra tall telescoping tripod, or a long board with screws for hanging the unit at the necessary heights. Just make sure to attach your board to something to keep it from falling over.

A:  The GLL 55 offers the same performance as the GLL 50, but it comes with a magnetic mounting bracket and a hard case as opposed to the 3-position mounting bracket and soft case included with the GLL 50.

A:  How well the Bosch 50 ft. Self-Leveling Cross-Line Laser Level works outside is somewhat subjective. I think it works well on a shaded target from about 10-15 feet away on a bright, sunny day. However, if the target is light colored and there's a bright sun shining directly on it, then the laser lines will not be visible at all. You'll have to shade the target. To date, I've only used the product indoors. I briefly evaluated it outside in order to answer this question. I've been very satisfied with the product.
