A:  No, I would not as the holes sit flush against the ground and would only trap water. YOu should look for a material that could channel the water otherwise you will have mold issues.

A:  Yes, you most definitely can.

A:  I wouldn't use these for that purpose. They hold water and don't drain very well.

A:  Probably not. Each hole is like a "cell." It would fill with water and cause the rug to rot.

A:  I'd use a razor knife. You can try the scissors but the mat is slightly thicker then most and might be difficult to use scissors

A:  Yes you can cut it but you will not be benefiting from the finished edging.

A:  Heavy duty scissors will do the job as long as you cut in between spaces.

A:  they would have to be pretty heavy duty scissors! A utility knife would probably work better

A:  Yes, I routinely cut these for clearance around hard obstacles in their landscaping application.

A:  I would suggest using a carpet knife as though scissors could work you might ruin them as the mat is fairly thick!

A:  You could not cut this item with scissors.

A:  Yes, the mats could be cut with a utility knife. I would recommend cutting the mat on a wood or several layers of cardboard to protect the utility blade point. The mat would be difficult to cut with even a construction type cutter for long straight cuts.

A:  I think you could easily cut this to a size you need. It is flexible and not too stiff or rigid. I think regular scissors will be difficult if they are not good quality. I would recommend using heavy duty kitchen shears or gardening shears. I would also cut through the middle of the holes to make the job easier.

A:  These have a non-slip surface. They could be used for that.

A:  We use it next to a slop sink that water is regularly spilled on the floor. It makes the work area much safer. We did notice water takes a lot longer to dry up because it gets trapped. Our work carts have a hard time rolling over them.

A:  I’m sure they could. The traction is very good.

A:  The holed would trap water and dirt. The mats would provide a cushioned work surface that would also be slip resistant. AT the end of the day the mats would have to be lifted and also wash aways the debris trapped in the mats.

A:  Yes, perfect application. I use mine in a wet environment and works perfect.

A:  Not sure. But after a little shopping around these were still priced the best for the size and quality.

A:  An increase of $2.80 is minimal. It is still worth it’s price. It is of great quality. You would have to ask that question to the Home Depot.

A:  All I know is that they are much higher price at restaurant supply stores.

A:  They are heavy so they don’t move around. They are well built. I can now stay working longer then before.

A:  I went ahead and ordered this mat because the price went up and I had given up on an answer. It was more mat than I had figured and works well. No sinking of the wheels and my wife could push me up the ramp. Thanks!

A:  I don't see any reason it wouldn't. It's a non-slip mat. But I would think at an incline the rubber against the wheels might make it more cumbersome to propel without any foreseeable benefit versus not having it there?

A:  This mat is too thick for a wheel chair, it will allow the chairs wheels to sink in making movement on the mat difficult. Mike

A:  It could work, but the mats will need to be secured to whatever your base is. Also, the holes in the mats are about an inch wide, so it might make it difficult if the incline is very steep. If you are using it outdoors, I don't know how UV tolerant it is. It might degrade in sunlight, or it might not. But it is a very good value.

A:  This shouldn't be a problem because its strong, but not too thick. I have 5 of them, and even use one for getting out of the shower as an anti-slipping insurance policy.
