A:  Probably need a replacement motor and housing. Not sure why this is the case but it shouldn't do that. If you email the manufacturer at service@summer-wind.info they can help. Send name, address and request. I recommend replacing the motor assembly and the outer housing.

A:  Yes. Any of the dual fan and light wall controls that Home Depot sells in-store will work just fine. However, to dim the light kit you will need to purchase dimmable LED bulbs. The bulbs that come with this fan are not dimmable. So if you change to that type of bulb you are good-to-go.

A:  For the motor you shouldn't because it will make the motor hum. The light you could for sure but the bulbs that come with the fan are non-dimmable. If you purchase dimmable LED bulbs and replace those then you'll be fine with a dimmer on the light kit line.
