The main difference between a HEPA filter is that it is made of thin fibers of glass and activated carbon-based materials. A:  Not sure about the filter question. But you would surely leave the canister in place.

A:  Not great, I recommend getting the slightly bigger portable vacuum. 

A:  It is probably too small to get an actual measurement of code. However, for small detail work it out preforms the ridgid bucket vacuum. The recovery waste section is very small so it’s only for small jobs.

A:  Yes it is perfect. You will just need to get a crevis tool for tight spots

A:  I have two wet/dry vacs... both Dewalt. I have the 1/2 gal and the 2 gal one. I love them both equally. The hose for the 2 gal is longer so it’s more versatile... but the smaller one is still very useful.

A:  I don't see why not as long as the ash is not hot. the black part of the vacuum is where the ash would go and its made of plastic that would not take heat

A:  Yes it does, I have used it to clean out my solo stove

A:  I works great, I use to clean out my green egg. Only down side is the ash clogs up the filter very quickly as with any fine particles, sawdust, etc. So plan on washing your filter after use. It's pretty quick and easy but it needs to be done often.
