Answer This Question
A: I would find a 300 to 400 watt inverter. You could do it the one item off of a 100 but for it to charge battery properly I would stick with a 300 watt minimum

A: Hey Don,
The charger draws about 3 amps AC. I use a 500 watt inverter for this charger and it works great. At a minimum go with a 400 watt inverter, but bigger is better.

A: Yes. I checked for fun in book and says charge time 22 mins. Seems slow for such a small battery (1.5 ah ) and such a beast of a charger.

A: They have a three year limited warranty for defects. If you put high voltage through them then they likely won’t service it. If you purchased it recently, you can just do an exchange at the store

A: Just give you a longer run time before you lose power
by|Oct 3, 2019
A: Yes, this battery will have more power to run your drill or other tools than a battery with less voltage. It is heavy but on some tools is less noticeable than others. For example the circular saw with this battery feels just fine cause it is resting on the wood surface and the circular saw runs nice with the extra voltage. On a drill it is heavy and you will notice it if you drill for a long period of time. The charger is great.

A: The higher the number of the amp, the LONGER the RUN time of the tool. Depending on what you are doing. I use 9 amp on flexvolt tools like table saw ,miter saw, sander, etc to get more cuts, etc.

Q:Is it true that "fast charging" heats Lithium Ion batteries, causing degraded battery performance/quality?

Answer This Question
A: The internal fan on this model keeps the battery cooler by drawing air over the charging battery pack. It also has internal circuitry to monitor the charge process to prevent battery damage. Always let a discharged LI battery cool down after use before charging and never charge a LI battery that is too cold because it can cause overcharging and damage (I think the minimum temp is 45F, it’s in the Dewalt instructions). Cheap fast chargers can damage lithium ion batteries but this model is not a cheap charger and it has worked well for me with my 20v MAX and 20v/60v FlexVolt batteries.

A: I have not had this problem with my fast Charger, but I only use it on the 20 volt battery and not the 18 volt.
