Answer This Question
A: gvani2 - Thank you for your question. First check if the efflorescence has caused the waterproofer to fail, It most likely has. I prefer to remove most of the efflorescence with a steel brush and scraper before using the DRYLOK® Etch solution. After scraping and steel brushing the affected areas, mix the DRYLOK® Etch per label instructions for etching and apply as directed. Do not allow the solution to dry, and do several freshwater rinses, then allow the surface to dry for a few days before applying two coats of DRYLOK® Waterproofer to the areas.

A: BGoode - It's not required, a simple garden hose rinse will work but a pressure washer will do a better job. The key is to rinse with large amounts of water to remove any residue.
