Q:Mouse hides in my stove can I put it there? And will it leave to die or will it die in my stove/oven

Answer This Question

A:  This product is designed to make the rodent extremely thirsty - in theory, they are supposed to run out of the home to seek water

by|Jun 27, 2019

A:  Yes, you can. Once the mouse eats it, he will go away and die.

by|Jun 24, 2019

A:  Never had one die in the house.

A:  I would not recommend putting the bait inside the stove. You would be ok in placing the bait near the stove as the rat/mouse will leave the stove to find a food source. The rat/mouse will typically return to its nest/burrow to die once it eats the bait.

    A:  LEAVE AND DIE

    by|May 5, 2023

A:  Jess, you would want to put MouseX where you are having rodent activity and they will die wherever they feel the safest which is typically where they are nesting.

Q:"clinging food packaging film"--what is that!? Or, "place in small sandwich bag"--seal it and stuff in hole? "Keep dry"--how is that possible around the lawn?! Directions are really confusing.

        Answer This Question

A:  "clinging food packaging film" is what is often used to cover bowls of food when placed in the refrigerator or on a table. Since it tends to seal rather well, it allows you to make a “packet” of this rodenticide and place it easier in the mouse/rat hole. As far as keeping the product dry and lawns, it is recommended to place the product in locations where rat activity is observed.

        by|Jul 20, 2017

A:  Like Saran wrap. Just wrap it around the pellets and put it near activity is noted. Good idea especially if using outdoors where moisture will cause the pellets to fall apart.

A:  "Clinging food packaging film" is Saran Wrap. If using in the lawn, I would suggest placing the bait in a 'plastic zipper storage bag. (Zip-Lock).

A:  "Clinging packing film" is another way to say Saran Wrap!

Q:If we find that mice are not eating this, will it help to grind it up in some peanut butter?

                  Answer This Question

A:  No, you do not want to mix peanut butter with MouseX as that will cause the product to become ineffective.

                  by|Dec 21, 2023

A:  It might even help as the active ingredient is salt (in theory this product works by fatally dehydrating the mouse) and peanut butter is also salty.

                    by|May 4, 2023

A:  It can't hurt, since it's supposed to be non-toxic. Maybe you should wear gloves and be sure to clean the utensils well afterward.

                    by|Jul 20, 2019

A:  Worth trying. It says on the packaging that it is supposed to keep dry. Im not sure if the active ingredient would degrade in the peanut butter. Perhaps it's worth calling the company?

                      by|Jun 26, 2019

A:  I don't know if that would work. I was just curious if you had gone ahead and tried doing that? But for that price it should work as is.

A:  It does not seem to affect larger animals or animals that are not rodents, when used as directed. Follow the instructions carefully and be vigilant with your pet and your application of this product.

                        by|Jun 27, 2019

A:  Nothing. The active ingredient is salt which works because rodents do not drink water, instead getting their water from the seeds and plant material they eat in the wild. A dog would have to eat an enormous amount of MouseX to be dangerous and even then it would just get thirsty and drink more water.

A:  Nothing! MouseX is safe for dogs, cats, chickens, livestock, and birds of prey!

A:  Nothing. Check the ingredients, it just mouse food. Not poison.

A:  Living in the country with hay meadows and woods around my house, I have had issues with mice 'wintering' under the hood. After several wires were gnawed through, the mechanic said he would NOT place any sort of bait under or around the vehicle; his advice, wire a glue trap near the site where they chewed the wire and if one is caught, kill it and leave in there for a few days. The dead rodent's smell will keep other ones away. I did what he said and sure enough, it has worked. If you see chewed wires, Toyota (I think) makes a rodent-deterrent tape that might be of use.

A:  I would opt to put it near where you park your car. Im not sure where you would put this in your car's engine that would ultimately keep dry and effective.

A:  I don't think it'd be a good idea to anything in your car's engine that isn't specifically designed to be there.
