A:  Espoma Garden Tone is what I use. Just follow the package instructions. I always get hundreds of peppers each year. I freeze alot of them

Liquids. If feet (and likely in the ground or headed into the ground) then I would switch to the granular – Garden-tone.

A:  Thank you for your question. Espoma has a Compost Starter product that is designed just for this purpose. However, it can be difficult to find. Garden-tone does have the necessary microbes and nutrients that would be beneficial to a compost, however, and could conceivably be utilized in that way.

A:  Sure, but there are better choice for laws.  Generally grass wants very hight nitrogen and small amounts of potassium and phosphorous.  This product will be much more "balanced" than typical lawn fertilizers and may encourage growth of invasive or undesirable plants in the lawn.

A:  Thank you for your question. Espoma Garden tone is best used on vegetables and herbs. A better option would be to use an Espoma Lawn item.

A:  Thank you for your question. It depends how you plan on applying Espoma Garden Tone. Please see the following: Soil Preparation for Vegetable Garden Apply 3.5 lbs. per 50 square feet and work into the top 4 to 5 inches of soil. When possible, mix with organic matter such as compost, humus, or peat moss. Feeding Vegetables and Tomatoes Single plants: Apply up to 1/3 cup per plant. Rows: Apply 1-1/3 cup each side per 5 ft. of row or 10 lbs. each side per 100 ft. of row. Potted Plants New Plants: When preparing soil for new plants, thoroughly mix 2 cups of Garden-tone into each cubic foot of Potting Soil. Established Plants: Sprinkle 1.5 tsp. of Garden-tone per 4″ of pot diameter onto the soil along the outer edge of the pot. Water thoroughly. Herbs In the garden – use 1 tbsp. per plant In containers – Use half the rate for potted plants above.

A:  Yes, still good for use

A:  Thank you for your question. Once it becomes wet, the product becomes activated and will begin to break down. It will not be very effective when used at a later time, as the product already activated. We always recommend keeping the product dry for this reason.

A:  Because Espoma is an organic fertilizer, there is less risk of burning your plants, but follow directions as indicated. Place fertilizer away from the stem, circular around the base, work it into the soil and water it in. It is a slow release fertilizer.

A:  It depends on the size of the pot. If you are using 5 gallon buckets and larger use the regular recommended amount. If smaller go with the potted plant recommendation. It is slow release so it won’t burn If you use a little too much.
