Q:Terrible design of the sockets! I have the same issue as everyone else - 23.5D face framed cabinets and the sockets don't provide enough length. Also, the rear mount socket is so poorly designed. There is no value in a socket, for which the inside edge cannot be secured because there's no way to reach it. Horrible, horrible. And, why would you ask your customers to deal with the extra step of securing piece of wood to the back?

A:  I would get the 22 inch ones and install a board at that point to support the brackets. It's what I did with my cabinet. Worked great.

A:  Mine was the same way. I had 20" drawers with 23.25 inch cabinet depth. You can build out cabinet sides at any depth you want as long as is matches the inside depth of face frame to cabinet. Mine was 1.375". Back end of blocks were 21" from face frame. If you have a double cabinet with no center wall as I did, you can hand wood from bottom of counter top using corner braces. The wood will be the same width as center face frame. mine was 2".

A:  Have the same setup and had to modify the Rear Socket. I have face frame cabinets with the same 23.5 depth and 20 drawer and used the 22" long Slides. Got the Kreg Install Jig to install these (Highly Recommend) so I know it was all installed correctly. I installed a horizontal 2x4 on the back of the Cabinet for the Slide Sockets. Got it all installed, went to slide the drawer in and it got about 2" away and just stopped. PROBLEM was the back of the Drawer was hitting the inside part of both sockets. A 24" rail is too long and a 23"er was not available so I had to get creative. I just took a hacksaw and sliced off the Inside Plastic portions of the Socket. Drawer goes all the way in now and works perfect. Disappointing that HD offers parts like this. BTW - a 23" Slide (if avaiable) may have worked if the Socket is mounted directly to the cabinet. If I just removed the 2x4 from inside the cabinet and used the 22" glides, there was not enough engagement with the Socket....it only went in about a 1/8" and I didn't trust that so got creative with Depot's Socket. :>)

Q:Can someone clarify the purpose of this accessory? Is my interpretation correct that these would be used to mount the drawer slides to the face frame opening and the back wall of the cabinet instead of the sides? My cabinet has a face frame, but I'm not going to support a bunch of heavy drawers on it because the face frame would sag and/or break with the way my cabinet is built - I intend to add cleats on the side walls to build out to the right drawer slide mounting position. Would I still need these sockets for some additional purpose?

                    Answer This Question

A:  Moses, Thank you for your question. These specially designed sockets are required for proper mounting ball bearing slides in face-frame cabinets. Each piece is uniquely molded to fit with your compatible Everbilt drawer slides. If you are installing in face frame cabinets these will be required. Best, Customer Care Team

A:  Not if you build out to directly mount.

A:  This is to mount a drawer slide where you cannot directly screw to the side of the cabinet. In my cabinets, there is a cabinet cavity that is wider than the initial opening of the drawer, meaning about a 5/16 inch gap on the left, and a 1 1/8 inch gap on the right. The front of the bracket sits flush/on the opening and the rear bracket is fitted to a spacer which is attached to the rear of the cabinet - there is no screws on the inner walls.

A:  Just use cleats to build up the sides of your cabinet to be flush with the inner edge of the 1x2 facing.

A:  It certainly does - it should be more of a “c clamp” type of bracket to allow drawer to completely retract. The metal rear mount bracket by Richilleau is that type and seems to fit - more adjustable fore and aft too

A:  Had the same problem and had to Cut the Inside Potion of the Plastic Sockets so the drawer would slide in all the way. I used Kreg Jig to install so I know that the rails were correct. Here's pics of the contact point and another of how I cut the Plastic socket. Drawers work great, but this is just a bad design.
