Q:I was just at Home Depot and found a carpet for my basement (754 square feet) for around $ .65, they said $ .49 install per square foot however they were saying $ .79 for padding? Looking at this Future Foam is says only $ .25 is this correct?

A: Thank you for your question. The Future Foam product are CRI Green Label Plus approved and passes and independent test to earn that approval. The Green Label Plus means the product has low VOC's. Any odor from new carpet and padding should go away within a 24 hour period with windows slightly open.

A: Thank you for your question. The Contractor 5 pound 3/8 inch product is a rebond foam product. A jute padding product is a synthetic felt product. Two totally different type of contruction of pad. The synthetic felt product is commonly used for commercial applications or under wool carpet. The Contractor pad is used for residential use, for a good comfort level under your carpet.

A: This cushion changes color over time . It becomes little yellowish. But it did not change the color of floor on the bottom or of the carpet.

A: Thank you for your question. The product should not change the color of the floor the product is laying over. The only way for the product to damage the subfloor is if there is a spill ans/or if after damp moping the floor and not allowing the floor to completely dry before putting the foam and area rug back down.

A: Anything that you use to cover an area of flooring will eventually change the color of the surrounding area, as the uncovered areas will gradually fade. While carpet padding will provide a softer surface, you may be better off with something made specifically as a non slip area rug foundation.
