A: When using the item as a saw, I park the in-point of the rope in the joint that operates the blade. I slightly open the joint and then lay the rope into that crook. Then, the bottom the rope sits around the middle of the pole.

A: Thank you for contacting Fiskars. You can either loop the excess rope around your hand a few times, or you can tie the rope loosely around the middle or end of the pole and pull on it from above your ties spots. The loose rope will maintain its position based on where you tied/looped it on the pole.

Q:Is there a way to manipulate the branches part way through cutting to control where the branches fall? I don't see a pole saw hook on this product. Thanks.

Answer This Question
A: There is a branch cutter and a saw. How branches fall depends on many factors. To be aure I would throw a rope around branch and lightly pull in the direction you want to it to go. Experience is a big part of know how a branch will fall.

Answer This Question
A: Feel sure you can, since I used the pruner with pull cord to trim my Sago Palm. You would need to be able to get the pruner to the base of each banana leave stalk.

A: The Fiskars pole saw/pruner came with minimal packing, instructions, or assemble required...the instructions were on the packaging which you probably tossed. Attaching the blade is as simple as removing the included wing nut, inserting the blade into the slot, and tightening the wing nut. Attached is a picture from the original packaging. Be sure to print it and save.

A: Line up hole in blade with locking screw and attach wing nut. Position blade (other hole) over the positioning pin and tighten the wing nut, when you have the blade in the right position for sawing.
by|Jun 30, 2021
A: On the side opposite the string operated lever is the blade and hook for the lopper. Directly above this is a threaded stud with wing nut and an unthreaded stud. Place the blade on the threaded stud and use one of the three holes for the stud/pin. It is somewhat adjustable for angle using the different holes. That's it.

Q:is it possible to increase the pole length beyond 14 ft by adding an extension? If yes, what is the part number for the extension pole?

Answer This Question
A: Unfortunately, by extending the pole beyond it percribed length, the leverage point changes and increases the risk of injury. If you are trying to trim tree limbs beyond it length, it means you should rethink what you are trying to trim and explore other options.
by|Apr 19, 2021
A: It does not appear that extensions are an option.
I planned to use a ladder and or a window from my home.
by|Jun 9, 2021
A: I would not recommend that. If you need a longer reach, it would be best to purchase one designed for the length you need.
by|Jul 8, 2021
A: Thank you for contacting Fiskars. Unfortunately, we do not have an extension available to safely extend the pole length.

A: No extension to the pole that I am aware of.......unless you use a ladder (if is is safe to do so) to extend your reach a few feet. May want to contact Fiskars Customer Service with your question.
