A: Sounds like some type of defect. I've had mine for right at 2 years and used it quite a few times extended and nothing like that on mine. Sounds like something inside the outer poles is scraping off fiberglass or they made some type of change and added some type of lubricant powder inside. Might want to contact Fiskars and ask them. These tools have a warranty.

A: Thank you for contacting Fiskars. The powder you see is just from when the orange outside pole was cut, this is not a defect on your pole. If you do have any manufacturing defects with your tree pruner please contact our warranty department at warranty@fiskars.com and a representative will be happy to further assist.

A: Lifetime warranty on pole. I am guessing that normal wear on the blade is not covered. If rope breaks or spring stops working that would be covered. You can always go to their site

Answer This Question
A: i don't see it in the product specifications, so, i went and measured mine, it looks more like 5/32 inches diameter to me. the spool on the pulley is about 3/8 inch from edge to edge, and the little hole on the handle that the rope threads thru is ~9/32 inch diameter, so there is some play,, and my rope is about 13 feet long. black.

Q:How do I replace the O-ring on the pole to keep it from slipping. The O-ring I have is split. I am not sure it is made of Rubber, it might be a leather material. I tightens when The pole is extended with a threaded attachment. I do not see any way of separating the pole handle without taking off the cutting head.

A: You just replace with a carriage bolt and wing nut that Home Depot sells down their fastener aisle. 1” I believe is the length of the bolt. Easy way to do it is to go grab a new pruner off the shelves and walk to hardware DEPT and show them the parts you need. They will have something that works.
by|Sep 24, 2020
A: You should be able to find a similar bolt at HD

Answer This Question
A: Not sure in what way you want to use this, but pruner works on 1.125" and smaller branches and I am very pleased with the saw, though being north I trim maples, pine and oaks.

A: If you are using the saw tool I would say yes....but most palms have really thick branches at the bottom the the cutter would not fit around it. I've used my to cut palm branches with the saw and it works pretty well but it's still a bit of work.
