A:  Yes it would. I have a xeriscape yard (rocks) so use it to burn single weeds that popped up thru the rocks.

A:  It has never set fire to the mulch to me. I guess if you left it in contact long enough it eventually would.

A:  I was burning weeds and grass growing within Lava Rocks around a pool. My guess based on what I experienced, there would be a very good chance that you could start mulch on fire with this as well as the weeds. Even when I was burning the grass an weeds in the lava rocks I kept a water hose close by to go back and water down areas I had burned and would recommend doing that as well.

A:  Best way to check is to try on a small area and see what happens. Every material reacts differently but this is a hot flame so you need to try it out.

Q:Does it leave burn marks on the pavers/concrete?

        Answer This Question

A:  I let mine burn for up to 5 minutes and so far it hasn't left any markings on concrete or pavers. I did hear that if you leave it too long it could crack or weaken the concrete. One video I watched said the concrete could explode but didn't show it doing so.

A:  It really isn't bad for marking. If you have some kind of stubborn weed and you hold the nozzle almost agains the concrete it will but it washes off. I think it might be the weed burning that can make the mark, as the flame is almost invisible. Sometimes I'm not sure it's still lit..lol.

A:  The only thing I can think of is the propane cylinder you are using is either not tighteed enough or the tool is defective. You can try another tank but if it is secured tightly and is still leaking I would return the torch and get another one.

A:  it takes a moment for it to get there... be sure valve is open enough for adequate pressure to drive the gas down the tube.

A:  Try disconnecting and reconnecting the weed burner to your propane cylinder. Make sure it is screwed on tightly. If it still leaks then you should contact Flame King customer service for a replacement.

A:  If you enlarge the image you will see half way down the weed burner there is a piece that sticks out. That is the igniter. You open the valve on the cylinder and press the igniter and the flame should start to work.

A:  The self lighting mechanism is a small push button on the shaft. Mine worked about three times and has not worked since, pretty disappointed with it. We have to manually start it now, considering returning it, but threw away the box after it had been working for awhile.

A:  It is a little button near the end of the rod, like the one you push to light a gas grill. Mine never worked from day 1. It is a very cheap affair that probably isn't producing enough spark to ignite the propane as it does make the clicking noise.
