A: Hi! Thanks for reaching out. You would need to place the dehumidifier in an area where the temperature will not fall below 41 F (5 C) or above 90 F (32 C). The coils can become covered with frost at temperatures below 41 F, which may reduce performance. If you have more questions about location requirements, take a look at page 5 in the Use and Care manual, here: https://images.thdstatic.com/catalog/pdfImages/61/615338bf-8aeb-4781-8951-c8fda04a6eea.pdf - Hope this is helpful! All the best. -Michael@GEA
A: Yes
A: Hello - Energy Star tests and rates the efficiency (Energy Factor) for dehumidifiers. This is listed in L/kWh (liters per kilowatt hours). The L/kWh this dehumidifier uses is 1.8. We hope this helps! Enjoy your day. -Shayla@GEA

A: Just a drain hose, I use it for my garage to keep the humidity down due to having electronic equipment. I do not use the drain hose connection, the unit have a cut off switch when the water bin is full so I have to dump it almost everyday, works great for me, I hope this helps. if you ask me how reliable it is I have full confident in this product. Within minutes the unit reduce the humidity 2 to 4 points.
A: Water collects in a bin the needs to be emptied or hook up a hose, which I do as the unit is use in an unfinished basement with a drain. I keep it set at 50% and the basement stays nice a dry during our humid summers.
A: I run a hose from this to a drain. Works well. Not hooked up. Just positioned so that the water drains easily.
A: No but that thing fills up pretty fast so you’ll get maybe 6 to 8 hours of use before needing to change it if you don’t hook a permanent hose on to drain it.
A: Greetings, This is a good question to ask! If you use a hose to drain water from the unit, the hose should lead into a floor drain. More details can be seen on page 6 of the manual. https://images.thdstatic.com/catalog/pdfImages/61/615338bf-8aeb-4781-8951-c8fda04a6eea.pdf. Reach out to us if you have any more questions. Stay well. Mike@GEA
A: The unit shuts off if the humidity level is reached. I do not use the timer.
A: Hello - We appreciate your interest in our dehumidifier; we'd be glad to help. When the desired humidity is reached, the unit turns off. If NS (Nonstop) is selected, the dehumidifier will operate continuously at its maximum dehumidification settings if attached to a hose to drain or until the bucket is full. While the dehumidifier is in operation, press the Delay Off pad to set it to turn off in 2 or 4 hours automatically. This does not automatically start the unit. We hope this helps! Take care, Shayla@GEA
A: It should make a noticeable difference.
A: We have this in a mud room in our basement ( it’s literally a dirt floor in a very old home with shelving). The dirt is covered with moisture covering. This dehumidifier is perfect. In the summer I empty once a day & in the colder months about every 3 days. I love it. No moisture on anything in the room at all
A: Hi there, thanks for taking the time to leave a review. If sized properly, a dehumidifier should maintain the relative humidity level that is set on the controls. The optimum relative humidity level for a room is generally between 30% and 50%. If the dehumidifier is oversized for the area, the unit may cycle on and off more often and some decline in performance could be noticed. We'd recommend taking a look at two articles on our website, both are titled DEHUMIDIFIER - SIZING, to make sure the unit you're wanting to purchase will be the correct fit for the area you're wanting to dry. We do hope this is helpful! If you have other questions, know that you're always free to reach out. Best wishes. -Michael@GEA
A: I just had this problem with a different dehumidifier. Check the drain area for mineral buildup and dirt. I also had a kink form in the hose because the dehumidifier is faced away from the drain. Both led to draining into bucket.
A: Hi - We are so sorry to hear about the difficulty you are having with your dehumidifier. We recommend checking the hose connection at the dehumidifier and remove any build-up that could be preventing the water from draining through the hose. Check the length of the drain hose to ensure it's clear. We recommend using the shortest length of hose possible to reach your floor drain. Make sure the end of the hose is not pushed too far down into the floor drain. It should just sit at the opening of your floor drain. Finally, check to be sure your dehumidifier is setting level. We hope these tips remedy the issue you're having. Kind regards - Vikki@GEA
A: Same here…pull hose off and check for sludge buildup around hose connection sometimes it prevents water from draining into hose and goes into bucket cleaned mine and works fine now
