A: no. the product must penetrate the bare concrete to work.
A: No, the surface has to be clean concrete
A: Ghostsheild is a penetrating concrete sealer. It worked well when applied over an old, pressure washed patio to prevent moss growth. I would not apply over a painted surface.
A: Thanks for showing an interest in Ghostshield. For this product to seal concrete, it needs to come in direct contact with the concrete substrate. A painted surface will not allow the product to come in contact with the concrete, therefore it’s active ingredients will not react sufficiently nor provide protection. We suggest removing the paint prior to applying.
A: No you cannot get the desired results by applying over painted concrete. The concrete needs to be new or etched if you are working with an older floor or wall for good penetration.
A: Thank you for showing an interest in Ghostshield products. The Quikrete Re-Cap Resurfacer product is listed as a modified polymer that is Portland-based. Although our products are designed for use with Portland cement, a compatibility test has not been performed. Test in an inconspicuous area for suitable compatibility. You may also consider Siloxa-Tek 8500 (if unsatisfied with Lithi-Tek 9500).

A: If applying thinset on top, we recommend Lithi-Tek 4500.
A: We recommend the concrete be dry before application. Do not apply when surface and air temperatures are expected to drop below 32F within 8 hours or when rain is expected within 12 hours following application.
A: I checked the website for ghost shield and it says to not apply to concrete where standing water is present. Ok to apply on concrete with up to 4% moisture content by weight. ??? I power washed all of my concrete and let it dry thoroughly before applying. Word of caution, I used a roller to apply and it is flashes off nearly instantly. 2 coats are recommended wet on wet. The 2nd coat beads up somewhat so try and avoid puddling as it can create white spots. Roll out any puddles. Let it dry thoroughly. I really like this product, it has been instrumental in keeping my concrete looking new. The concrete will still get dirty ( I have dogs that will track it up with muddy feet) but it washes off easily and seems to really help in keeping the concrete looking new. The dirt doesn’t seem to be able to create brown spots like it used to before applying this product. I am very pleased that I treated my concrete. I have a lot of concrete on my property.

A: This product (Lithi-Tek 9500) is designed to repel liquids. You may find a top coating (like an epoxy, urethane or acrylic) does not adhere to the treated surface. Instead, we recommend treating/priming the concrete with a Densifier like Lithi-Tek 4500 or Sila-Tek 3500 prior to the epoxy. The 4500 and 3500 products will reduce the porosity of the concrete, thereby reducing the transmission of moisture underneath a coating. If you decide to treat the concrete with a Densifier prior to applying a top coating, it is recommended you wait 5-7 after applying the 4500 or 3500 before applying the epoxy, urethane or acrylic.

A: According to the manufacturer's product FAQ: "Yes, you can paint after applying the Lithi-Tek 9500 as long as an oil or enamel based paint is used." https://ghostshield.com/product/lithi-tek-9500
A: No. This product repel liquids on the surface. If you would like to reduce moisture or vapor transmission below the coating, we recommend Lithi-Tek 4500.
A: Lithi-Tek 9500 will NOT darken or alter the concrete color. However, for this type of application, we would recommend our Siloxa-Tek 8510. Unfortunately, Siloxa-Tek 8510 is not currently available on HomeDepot.com.
A: It will not alter color goes on wet looking but dries original color
A: Know the stain would not penetrate I did put a oil based primer over mine and concrete paint 5 years ago and it still looks perfect but do not think stained wood soak in as it is waterproof
A: I would stain first the apply ghost shield
