A: Yes, our butcher block countertops are solid wood. You can easily cut it to size.

A: Yes you can. Just make sure to put the cut edge against the wall because this countertop has a rounded edge. Cutting it will remove the rounded edge so you will want to put that against the wall so the other side with the rounded edge is sticking out.

Q:How likely is warping/discoloration if it's only used in an office setting? Is the surface too rough for office use if I do not sand? I live in an apartment and do not have the space to sand or finish the product.

Answer This Question
A: Andy - We sand our butcher blocks down to 150-grit. If you purchase an unfinished butcher block you will have to finish/seal it on all sides to avoid warping. Due to you not being able to finish the product, I recommend that you purchase a finished butcher block.

A: These are just a bunch of boards glued together and planed together to be flat. It can easily but cut to length with tools. If you don't have tools most home depots have a setup for cutting plywood in the lumber section which should be able to handle this butcher block. You can then use a sanding block to clean up and round over the cut edge.
