A:  It depends. If it is a living thing inside then it will suffocate pretty quickly. However, I would expect that since it's advertised as waterproof, it will keep water out for a good bit of time, allowing non-living items contained therein to "survive".

A:  "Food safe" is a little vague. What type of food? Canned goods, boxed food and the like would definitely be safe. Maybe you're asking about the composition of the plastic that the bin is made of? IDK about that.

A:  I would trust it to put boxed food in. I use them to haul food for family holidays, and I also use them to store clothes in. The seal is extremely good on these bins.

A:  It *might*, but the latches on these are not really built for that kind of pressure. I’ve dealt with this specific problem of cycled water. Solution: NSF (food safe) grade 5 gallon buckets with Gamma-seal screw-on lids (HD sells the Leaktite version). This will be water-tight, structurally sound, and not impart any petrochemicals into the aquarium water.

A:  If the lid-gasket is in good condition, yes. I have about 12+ of these used in storage. Not bugs, no moisture issues.

A:  It has an air tight seal. I've stored my camp food, like bread with no bugs, no moisture, even stored outside the tent.

A:  I hope so. I only managed to fine 1 in little rock arkansas. I?ve been to home depots all over america with no luck.
