Q:Can I install it on a 1-1/2 pipe that won't affect the flow rate issue?

Answer This Question
A: This filter has a 20 gpm flow through so even though a 1-1/2 pipe has about 80 gpm capacity you will still get a 20 gpm flow through.

Q:How does this filter compare in effectiveness to a pleated, replaceable filer?
by|May 14, 2023

Answer This Question
A: Hi DSWB,
This is a sediment strainer or filter that fills up with sediment and then is flushed out. SO the filter is not replaced the same as the pleated filter would or as often.

A: I have this filter in the front of 2 in-line whole house filters. I can see if there is a buildup of sediment in the filter. I can block in the filters, by-pass them and clean it out along with replacing the whole house filters. This add life to the whole house filters and my water is very pure and pleasant in our house.

A: Hi Superman,
The WSP-50 is always installed Horizontally, not vertically. If you need a system like this we would recommend the WSP50GR or WSP100GR models.

Q:Our well water has only one problem: lime! Will it rates fine, it clogs the hot water heater and accumulates on faucets. What is the size of this contaniment (microns) and what filter do you recommend?

A: It works very well, I have it as the first in line with 2 whole house water filtration systems. We had a problem with the water plugging up the hot water heater on a long-term basis. This set-up cleared up the problem. Water tastes great and we noticed a better bathing.

A: 50 microns

A: Not going to stop the lime with filter. Maybe 5 or 6 in line sediment filters would help

A: Hi Dave,
Mineral content like Calcium and Magnesium that create lime scale are dissolved in the water and this system will not work for that since it is for sediment. I would recommend the whole house anti-scale filters such as WDS150K or WDS80K, or our electronic descaler ED2000 or ED2000S.

A: I installed this filter after my on-demand domestic heater and it works great. I run 140d water. I would NOT use on 180d heating water. The acrylic gets warm but not hot. Its catching all kinds of flash scale b4 the appliances. Product is great quality.
