Q:Our well water has only one problem: lime! Will it rates fine, it clogs the hot water heater and accumulates on faucets. What is the size of this contaniment (microns) and what filter do you recommend?

A: It works very well, I have it as the first in line with 2 whole house water filtration systems. We had a problem with the water plugging up the hot water heater on a long-term basis. This set-up cleared up the problem. Water tastes great and we noticed a better bathing.

A: 50 microns

A: Not going to stop the lime with filter. Maybe 5 or 6 in line sediment filters would help

A: Hi Dave,
Mineral content like Calcium and Magnesium that create lime scale are dissolved in the water and this system will not work for that since it is for sediment. I would recommend the whole house anti-scale filters such as WDS150K or WDS80K, or our electronic descaler ED2000 or ED2000S.

A: I installed this filter after my on-demand domestic heater and it works great. I run 140d water. I would NOT use on 180d heating water. The acrylic gets warm but not hot. Its catching all kinds of flash scale b4 the appliances. Product is great quality.

A: Yes. I have an Organic Iron problem at camp. The spin down filter catches a lot of the gunk. It saves me from buying more sediment filters. Mostly I open the valve and flush out the spin down. Sometimes its very thick and I clean the steel mesh filter itsself with a tooth brush. so far in 3 years i have not replaced the steel mesh filter, However I DID purchace and extra Steel mesh micron filter AND a back up complete spin down unit... just in case. YES they are avalible. and reasonalbly priced.

A: It is a stainless steel mesh filter, no need to replace. This is a prefilter, intended to remove large particles before the sediment filter and carbon filter
