A: Kevin, Thank you for your question. The overlay refers to how much the cabinet door overlaps the cabinet frame. If you are building your cabinets from scratch, it depends on the opening of the cabinet as well as the size of the doors. If you are replacing existing hinges, my recommendation would be to measure how much the cabinet door overlaps the frame and purchase an exact replacement. Best, Customer Care Team

A: There are a couple of factors. 1. How wide is the faceframe you are attaching the door to? 2. How wide is your door compared to the opening size? 3. How much of the faceframe of the cabinet do you want to see on the hinge side of the door?
I use 1/2” overlay hinges when I make cabinet doors but that is really personal preference. The diagrams for the how the hinges attach are helpful. They can be found under the pictures for each item

A: There's protruding legs on the front and back of the mounting plate that fit like a cap on a 3/4" face frame, with only one screw mounting the hinge (to the frame). If you mounted it on a frameless cabinet it would not sit flush, plus frameless hinges have 2 mounting screws- much more secure. You would lose a lot of time trying to adapt them for an unintended purpose. Get the frameless hinge, buy or make a jig, and save yourself a lot of time and frustration.

A: It could be done but it's designed for a faceframe, there are two bits on the part that mount to the faceframe that fold over the front of the frame. They do that to make it easier to mount the hinges to the faceframe. The bits are folded over so if you didn't have the faceframe you would need to drill out holes so it would sit flush into the cabinet body.

A: Bob, Thank you for your question. These hinges are only to be used for a face frame installation. If you scroll down to "Product Overview" there is another section called "Info and Guides." If you click on Installation Guide, we go into greater detail on the installation process and why these are specifically designed for face frame cabinets. We have other hinges that will work for a frameless application. Best, Customer Care Team

A: Liberty makes (and Home Depot carries) a half overlay with 110 degree opening, but just in a 2 pack, not the 10 pack like this one.

A: Reed, Thank you for your question. I am not sure what screws you are referring to. The screws on either side of the cup will need to be screwed in and then one screw drilled in the middle of the square portion on the other side. The other two screws that are on the square portion of the hinge are used for adjustments and do not screw into the cabinet. Best, Customer Care Team

A: Hello Tools1galore,
We thank you for your interest in our product. From the edge of the door to the center of the 35mm hole is 3mm. 3mm to the edge of the hole plus 1/2 of the 35mm = 20.5mm to the center of the hole. 20.5mm. I hope this is helpful. Kind Regards, emccollum
