A:  The included bulbs put out 2875 lumens each for a total of 11,500 lumens for the four bulbs that come with the fixture.

A:  Not really as they're designed to fit into a 'drop ceiling', they'd look odd without the framing of the dropped ceiling. I have some that are not the 'troffer' design and have steel sides, but not these units. You can find units that are designed for what you want, but not these.

A:  No, this cannot be surface mounted.

A:  No, I tried a CL dimmer switch and only got a minimal reduction of light (almost not noticeable) until the bulbs started to flicker. As I understand it you would need a dimmable ballast which is not in the original fixture.

A:  I don't understand your question. This fixture is 24 in. x 48 in. If the opening for the old fixture is larger then you will have to find a fixture that will fit the opening or modify the opening to fit a size fixture you can find.
