A:  It is rated up to 15A at 120v. So just make sure your loads don't have starting surge currents greater than that.

A:  You can control any device that operates on 115 volts AC up to 15 amps but typically you would limit the load to 80% or 12 amps. It is for on/off control only, however, another device downstream can provide voltage step down or conditioning such as a transformer or driver. Lights and motors can be controlled with this device. Think of out as an outlet and a switch in one such as an outlet in your family room controlled by a wall switch.
