A: The BL1830B has the LED charge level indicator built into the battery whereas the BL1830 does not
A: One model has a battery gauge. The other does not. The one with the battery gauge may not work with the very first Makita LXT tools (those without a star or yellow battery contact from around 2006-2007). The version without the gauge works with everything
A: The difference between the battery is the BL1830B 18V LXT® Lithium-Ion 3.0Ah Battery has an Integrated L.E.D. battery and the BL1830 does not.
A: Which charger can charge both of them
A: Having both batteries side by side the only significant difference I could tell is their place of origin. BL1830 started out in Singapore and BL1860B started in Japan. Both were assembled in China. There is also a small plane insignia on the label of BL1830B.
A: Go
A: Thank you for your question. The BL1830B 18V LXT® Lithium-Ion 3.0Ah Battery has an Integrated L.E.D. battery charge level indicator allows user to monitor battery charge, while the BL1830 does not.
A: Yes
A: they will fit but you have to do some Redneck ingenuity on some of your tools. There is nub on the slide that will have to be filed off.
A: Thank you for your question. Yes, the BL1850B-2 18V LXT® Lithium-Ion 5.0Ah Battery, 2/pk is compatible only with Star Protection tools, indicated by the Star Symbol™ and/or Yellow Battery Receiver under the tool. For information on Star Protection, please visit https://www.makitatools.com/innovation. Regarding the recommendation from Tomcat, Makita USA does not recommend making any kind of alteration to our products. Alterations will void the Manufacturer Warranty and may compromise the integrity of the tools performance.
A: Yes. I believe so. Fits all my Makitas.
A: Makita's answer is their way of nicely saying, "Thanks for spending hundreds, or perhaps thousands of dollars on our LXT tools in the past, but if your tools are more than 5 years old, you need to buy all new LXT tools (even if the old ones are still working) if you want to use these new batteries." And the "Fix" is widely available on the internet. You can either remove a tab on the battery (which voids the warranty on the battery) or make the corresponding slot on the tool (more work, still technically voids the warranty on the battery, but not as apparent). And since they didn't actually answer the star rated question: Star rated means tools equipped to use the Star system, which is a feedback system between the tool and the battery, which prevents damage to either the tool or the battery should an overload condition exist. Which is a nice idea. Just sucks that it obsoletes all their previous LXT tools.
A: Yes its the best
A: Yes, the batteries will work with 18v Makita tools.
A: Yes have used it on all my Makita star tools
A: yes
A: No, will only work with tools marked with the star,I think is just the most recent release
A: Thank you for your question. As mentioned in the product overview, the BL1850B 18V LXT® Lithium-Ion 5.0Ah Batteries will reach a full charge in 45 minutes or less.
A: On a DC18RC or newer charger, it should only take 40-45 minutes to charge fully.
A: Yes. They take some where between 45 minutes to an hour to fully charge because they hold a bigger capacity
A: Yes, 5.0AH batteries give a longer run time thereby needing a longer charge time. With that hot, over heated even cold batteries require more time to charge as well.
A: Yes. Charge time for these batteries is between 45 mins to an hour.
A: Almost. More like 45-50 minutes, unless the battery is overheated or otherwise distressed, in which case the charger will cool or condition it before charging. The indicator lights on the charger will tell you if that is going on. By the way, a fair price for 2 x 5.0 amp hour batteries is $159.
A: As the manufacturer said, it will take approximately 45 mins to fully charge the battery. Temperature is another factor that may make charging process longer
A: IF THE BATTERY IS NEAR DEAD IT WILL TAKE A LONG TIME TO CHARGE, SEEMED LIKE IT WAS AT LEAST 45 MINUTES OR AN HOUR
A: Yes it is normal for the charger to take up to an hour to charge the 5 amp hour battery, it is a large capacity battery. I don’t know if they make a fast charge charger that is something that you can check out I am perfectly fine having it taken hour to charge I’ve got several of these batteries so it’s no big deal for me.
A: No , it’s never taken that long for mine. Probably , more like 40 to 45 minuets.
A: Thank you for your question. As mentioned in the product overview, the BL1850B 18V LXT® Lithium-Ion 5.0Ah Batteries will reach a full charge in 45 minutes or less.
A: It will take 45 minutes or less for the battery to reach full charge.
A: First, try to avoid full discharge. Most manufacturers recommend recharging when low or above. With that said it will be about 90 minutes.
A: I'm sure it depends on the charger you have. I have the DC18RD that I bought solely because of the usb port that I can charge my phone with. It charges 2 5ah batteries in less than 30 minutes.
A: About 1 hour +-.
A: it takes 45 minutes
A: It takes me about 45 minutes to charge one of these using the dual port fast charger DC18RD.
A: It takes 15 to 20 minutes to charge.
A: 30-45 mins
A: 45 min to 1 hour
A: Yes it will.
A: They will fit any 18 volt I use them on all my tools
A: Yes it will work with older models
A: Thank you for your question. The BL1850B-2 18V LXT® Lithium-Ion 5.0Ah Battery, 2/pk are compatible with all LXT tools which contain Star Protection Computer Controls™. The tools in the LXT407 18V LXT® Lithium-Ion Cordless 4-Pc. Combo Kit are equipped with Star Protection Computer Controls™ and are compatible with the BL1850B-2.
A: Yes it will. I have a LXT makita drill and I purchased 2 new batteries about a year ago.
A: Yes they are all compatible the differance between the 2.0 and the 5.0 are the run times!
A: The batteries are designed to fit all including the Brushless.
A: No
A: No, not all Makita BL model are compatible.
A: Some of the bigger batteries will not fit on the older or smaller 18 volt tool
A: Lithium based batteries should be stored at around a 40 percent state-of-charge.
A: When storing this type of battery, it is recommended by the manufacturer to store it full.
A: I normally charge them to full capacity. Unfortunately you can not store them indefinitely without a recharge. One to two months and they should be fine. Mine rarely sit more than a couple days(vacation).
A: 30 minutes
A: You should charge them every few months if you aren't using them. If they go flat, it tends to kill them. One of my original 3.0Ah batteries lasted 12 years doing this. The other one I forgot about and let completely discharge (took well over a year), and it refused to charge. Of course, since these are made up of multiple individual cells in series, it only takes one to go bad to take down the whole pack.
A: Yes Charge the 3.0 Ah and the 5.o Ah on the same charger
A: Thank you for your question. Yes, the DC18RA 18V Lithium-Ion Rapid Optimum Charger will charge any of the Makita line of 18 Volt LXT® lithium-Ion batteries.
A: Yes
A: Yes you can
A: THE DC18RA WILL CHARGE THE 5AH BATTERY BUT IT TAKES A LITTLE LONGER THA N THE NEWER CHARGERS
A: Hi Reggie, unfortunately we're unable to ship this item to: AK,GU,HI,PR,VI. We appreciate your business and look forward to serving you in the future. Thank you for shopping Home Depot!
A: Yes
A: I would move!!!
A: You bought the 4.0ah
A: These batteries are the same size as the 3.0 and 4.0 AH batteries. They weigh a little more because they have extra cells for the higher AH rating.
A: Yes. The 2 Pack of 5.0 Ah are the same form factor as the 3.0's There was a single pack of 2.0 Ah that was a smaller form factor. I passed on that and got the 2 5.0 Ah batteries
A: Yes they do. I have these in my case and the batteries are minimally larger. Home Depot sells them at a terrific Price!
A: Thank you for your question. The Makita BL1830, 18-Volt LXT Lithium-Ion 3.0Ah Battery, is virtually the same size as the Makita BL1850B, 18-Volt LXT Lithium-Ion 5.0Ah Battery, and should not take up any more space than your Makita BL1830, 18-Volt LXT Lithium-Ion 3.0Ah Battery.
