Q:Does anyone know the gas cap part number for these? I tried calling Murray and was on hold forever, then I applied for their call back service and never got called back

A:  This mower uses a Briggs & Stratton gas cap, model # 5436, part # 799585. Regards, Murray Customer Care.

    A:  Murray and I think MTD and other brands are surely interchangeable.  I would just go to a hardware store and buy one that looks right and keep the receipt.  If it works, cool. If not take it back for a refund.

      A:  596250 would actually be the right cap number. Murray I'm not sure why your giving out the wrong cap number, but I ordered the one you suggested and it wasn't even close I will post a picture of the wrong one you told me murray

        A:  We can't, gone the way of the 10lb/$1 chicken wings and 33 cent gas. I feel the pain. First mower I bought $40 Murray long stolen but likely still running. A virtual Bush Hog, indestructible.

            A:  This mower uses SAE30 motor oil. The oil should be changed five hours after your first use of the mower, and every 50 hours or annually after the initial oil change. Whichever comes first. Regards, Murray Customer Care

                  A:  You can purchase replacement blades at Walmart, where they sell mower parts. If not go to Jack's small engine repair parts for the blades. FYI these blades are designed to bend easy so you don't damage the engine.

                    Q:I can pull the cable to start a 20" mower. Is it just as easy to start a 21" or is it harder? I am a female 5'1" 80 years of age. I need to purchase a new mower but I do not want to get one and cannot pull the cable far out to start it.
