A: Thank you for your question. Yes, Nashua Stretch & Seal can be used for water pipes at 60psi. Use multiple wraps as you see fit to guarantee the seal. Best of luck with your project.

Q:can i use this for my dragon plant for grafting?

Answer This Question
A: I don't know for sure, but I guess you could because this tape only sticks to itself and not the material you are using it on.

A: Thank you for your question. While we have not performed specific testing for this particular plant, nor for grafting in general, we do not anticipate that the product would pose any chemical threat to the plant. Best of luck with your project.

Answer This Question
A: Thank you for your question. Before stretching, Nashua Stretch and Seal is 20 mil thick which reduces as you stretch the tape to wrap surfaces. Building layers of course will add thickness. Best of luck with your project.

A: Thank you for your question. Nashua Stretch & Seal is a non-adhesive product that only sticks to itself. It would not work for mounting and hanging applications. Best of luck with your project.

A: That is not it’s intended use and I do not believe it would work for that purpose

Answer This Question
A: No, you need to stretch it so that it can stick to itself.
by|Jun 11, 2020
A: No. The tape adheres to itself only.

A: YES - SHOULD DO THE JOB
by|Dec 19, 2019
A: No, this tape is made to wrap around things, like pipes or tubing. It will not hold tightly to flat surfaces.
by|Dec 19, 2019
A: Thank you for your question. No, Stretch & Seal will not be appropriate for patching a mattress. It is a non-adhesive tape and will only stick to itself (making it appropriate for wrapping around pipes, wires, etc).

Q:Can this be used on polybutylene pipes?

Answer This Question
A: YES SHOULD WORK ON POLYBUTYLENE PIPESS
by|Oct 13, 2019
A: I've used it on different surfaces and it adheres regardless. The key to it's adherence is that it bonds to itself, not the surface in question. So as you wrap a surface, it's not until the tape comes into contact with itself by wrapping it over itself that it forms a bond. That said, I wouldn't see any reason why it wouldn't be effective on polybutylene.
by|Oct 13, 2019
A: I don’t see why not. It stickers to itself
by|Dec 5, 2020
A: it is temp fix. The tape really just sticks to itself when stretched.
The material it is used on really doesn't matter.
Just make sure the material is clean so it can seal and not leak out sides.
by|Aug 4, 2020
A: Thank you for your question. Nashua Stretch & Seal can be used on virtually any material including polybutylene. Stretch & Seal bonds only to itself - it forms a watertight seal but can be cut away when the project is done leaving no sticky residue behind. Best of luck with your project!

Q:Will this tape succeed in patching rubber boots against leaking?

Answer This Question
A: IT MIGHT - IF YOU CAN WRAP IT TIGHTLY.
by|Aug 9, 2019
A: Not sure, but I don’t think so. The reason is that you have to stretch the tape tightly as you’re wrapping it around a solid surface like a pipe or piece of PVC. I think you would find the boot is to liable to have this material work for you. You might consider looking at Flex Seal as an alternative: https://www.flexsealproducts.com/

A: It doesn't have any adhesive. It bonds to itself as you stretch and wrap a surface. I's hard to imagine the application you have in mind, but you would need to be able to wrap the tape on itself for it to bond. My thinking is that it probably wouldn't work on footware.

A: Probably not. The tape doesn't stick to anything but itself so it cannot be used as a square patch.

Q:I used this to repair the hose on a small air compressor, at the point where the hose is connected to the unit. I noticed after use that the taped area felt warmer than the rest of the hose (but it may be that this area gets warm normally and I just never noticed). It did work fine, at least up to 20 lbs psi. Is it okay to use this for air compressors? Or is that not recommended?

Answer This Question
A: It's made for water pipes. The pressure of an air compressor might be too much. When you first stretch it and apply it gets warmer because of the reaction of it bonding to itself. If it is constantly getting warm it's most likely the air is separating it and causing to to react again. It wont hurt your compressor but it will eventually lose it's ability to seal over time.
by|Aug 5, 2019
A: Thank you for your question. Stretch & Seal may provide a temporary seal for a compressor hose assuming adequate wraps, but would likely not be a permanent solution. Best of luck with your project.
by|Aug 5, 2019
A: I only used it on low pressure drain pipes.
by|Aug 5, 2019
A: Would not recommend for compressed air lines. Also, if the air compressor is or has just run, the air will be warm.
by|Aug 5, 2019
A: USE THE TAPE ONLY FOR TEMPORARY REPAIRS - NOT A PERMANENT FIX.

Q:How many # water pressure will Nashua Stretch & Seal withstand?

Answer This Question
A: Package does not list a pressure range; although it does list temperature and other ranges. I have used on drain pipes (low pressure); but I would not recommend for water pipes (cold or hot).
by|May 21, 2019
A: It is not meant for sealing against pressure- may be effective against drain leaks
by|May 22, 2019
A: Thank you for your question. Assuming proper installation, Stretch & Seal is recommended for sealing up to 50psi. Wrap should be as tight as possible with minimum of 50% overlap. Multiple layers of wrap will further secure against leaks as you approach higher pressures. Best of luck with your project.
