Mine came unassembled. I recommend having someone help you. I did mine by myself, and attaching the sides to the rockers singlehanded was not easy.

This rocker is made of plastic.
They are study plastic.
Hello, The Presidential Rocker as well as our other furniture items are made from HDPE (high density polyethylene) recycled plastic products such as milk jugs and laundry detergent bottles. The plastic material will run all the way through. We use no wood composite in our furniture. Thanks for the great question! Ashley
Hello Alex, In our most recent round of testing, this chair passed both our residential and commercial static load tests. Therefore, it has actually been rated to hold 400 pounds plus of static weight. Sorry for the confusion! Thanks for reaching out with your question, Bryce
I live at the southern New Jersey shore, home of rusted cars and moldy siding. At the end of an entire spring and summer outdoors on an unprotected patio, my Polywood rocker had tiny spots of mold on the arms. I mixed 4 parts water to one part bleach (labeled for outdoor use) in a spray bottle, misted the affected areas and wiped the mold away. Since then, I've been "treating" them when I first set them out, and have had no mold all season. If you lay out the pieces, make a plan and have a helper (HIGHLY recommended), you can probably put one together in 30 minutes.
Hello, Great questions! Yes our POLYWOOD material is very mold resistant. However, like any other material, it can show some signs of mold/mildew if left out in certain environments. If it does show signs of mold, it is usually extremely easy to clean and will likely rinse right off with just a little soap and water. As far as assembly goes, if you have a power drill and the help of a second person, it can take 30 minutes or less. However, if working alone without a power drill, the assembly process is still pretty easy and hopefully would not take much longer than an hour. Thank you for reaching out with your questions, Bryce
We bought a pair of these 3 years ago. We live 1/4 mile from an enormous bay, and 1-1/4 mile from the Atlantic Ocean. We experience high humidity and are extremely prone to mold, on siding as well as on vinyl dog-run fencing. We store these chairs indoors over winter, but I can honestly say we've had very minor, if any, problem with mold on them. Because of our humidity situation, we do mold-preventive maintenance on them with Clorox wipes, once a year. I originally put them together by myself, and it was tricky balancing pieces and holding them aligned as I screwed them together. With two people assembling, I think it would be very easy. We love these chairs, and I highly recommend them. We plan to get a pair of their Adirondack chairs in the near future
Hello, The back of the seat is approximately 14" from the ground. Thanks for reaching out with your question! Ashley
