Answer This Question

A:  It’s pretty coarse and felt damp right out of the bag so I would be hesitant to use it but that would just be my humble opinion.

A:  Hi Pokey. Thank you for your Question. The Pavestone All Purpose play sand is a great all-purpose sand that would work well as a base under base your above ground pool. Just calculate the square footage of your pool base. The back of the bag will have the calculations for your desired depth. Please let us know if we can be of further assistance. Rick_HD_OC

A:  What exactly is your question? You said " I need sand for a pool". I'm guessing you are putting up an above ground pool and need to know if this kind of sand will work to level it. If that's what you need to know, this is good sand for the job. Without knowing the size of the area, you'll have to refer to the sand calculator on the back of the bag. I've included a screenshot of that for you to give you an idea. This sand is clean and sifted, no sharp rocks in it. Nice and soft. We use it to hold down an umbrella base. Most pools are leveled with a 2 inch base of sand. According to the calculator on the bag, if your pool is 10 X 20 ' will require 67 bags for a 2 inch base. Look at the calculator as it shows a formula to figure it out. Good luck.

A:  If using it for potted plants be sure to mix the top 2 inches with potting soil so it doesnt clump together. Sand is a great additive when growing pepper plants as well.

A:  Hi, Beau I'm really not sure this would be the product to use. It doesn't say anywhere on the product page that this can be used for potted plants in water garden ponds. Maybe look into some kind of aquatic sand. Here is one that Home Depot carries. This might fit your needs better: I hope the link below helps: if not, just enter Mosser Lee 5 lbs. A:  no, it doesn't stain at all. I use it to mix with powdered cement to make cement garden ornaments - and no stains unless I put a color stain intentionally into the mixtures. but just working with the sand - no - no stain.........
