Q:Can you use this instead of Muriatic acid?
by|Mar 24, 2023

Answer This Question

A:  NO! Usually, 2 cups of muriatic acid in a 24-hour period is safe to add to a pool at the time. Factors determining how much acid to add are how strong the muriatic acid is and the volume of your pool. The stronger the muriatic acid is, the less you can add at once. In a 10,000 15,000 gallon pool, you should not add more than 2 or 3 cups of muriatic acid in a 24 hour period.

by|Mar 29, 2023

A:  No. This is chlorine. Muriatic acid is used to drop the Ph in your pool.

    by|Mar 25, 2023

A:  No, they are very, very different chemicals. Bleach is very basic and oxidizing. Muriatic acid (HCl) is very acidic and non-oxidizing. Bleach is used as a disinfectant, and HCl is used to remove calcium deposits (efflorescence) or raise the pH of pool water. Don't every mix them, either.

        Answer This Question

A:  It's 10% sodium hypochlorite and 90% water. It's basically pure otherwise, with insignificant impurities of sodium chlorate, sodium carbonate, sodium chloride and sodium hydroxide.

Q:Does this replace the clorox 3" tables?

          Answer This Question

A:  NO. Add to floater the 3" tables and add chlorine to the pool water.

          by|Nov 18, 2022

A:  Pros: Easy to add via return.  Cons:  Have to deal with 1-gal plastic containers.  Must test water daily to know chlorine levels.  I know they’re expensive these days but 3“ tabs are more economical I have found with my pool. Pool is outdoor in full Sun at 35k gallons. Especially when used with an inline feeder. You can dial in the feeder to provide the proper amount of chlorine to keep the pool at 2ppm which is the optimal amount. I use about +/- 75# of 3” tabs per year via an inline feeder.  Late winter I’ll utilize the liquid chlorine but only when my 3” tabs run out.

              by|Nov 23, 2022

A:  I'm not sure. We use the liquid chlorine and put one or two tablets in the floater. Pool stays clean and balanced.

A:  No, this replaces the shock you use weekly.

Q:Is it bad for plants ?

                    Answer This Question

A:  Yes. It is chlorine bleach, after all, and it's more concentrated than regular laundry bleach. If you get any on a plant (or yourself!), wash it off immediately with plenty of water.

                          Answer This Question

A:  Yes, but keep in mind, it is about twice as concentrated as normal laundry bleach. This pool chlorine is 10% sodium hypochlorite, rather than the 5 or 6% that ordinary bleach has. Use less of it, or dilute it with an equal amount of water first.

                            Answer This Question

A:  The manufacture date is encoded as YYDDD in the first five digits of the stamped code. The rest of the digits (XXX?) are likely a location code. For example 21123xxx.. is the 123 day of 2021. You can locate this information on google by asking about HDX C
